  • I listened to the voice of peace, radio station, often, as I was a student in Tel Aviv, from 1984-1986, and also as I was practicing my rowing skills with other kids, in the port of Yafo sea scouts, you could not miss the appearance of that peace ship on the horizon. Thank you so much, for bringing the voice of peace recordings, they are all really good memories, and I wish that more recordings will be brought up on You Tube, it was an amazing time, the 1980s. Abie, we all love you, for ever!

  • .........MV-PEACE ........worked on board 1973.....bound .from Marseille to "somewhere in mediterranean" in international waters- because not allowed to get in any harbour. my best to the crew ,sailors passing by here Jean -( le roi de la campbell soup et des chicken wings , specialiste du distillating plant lol)

  • great memories of this station too bad they sunk the ship and closed down :(

  • Yes, my companion every evening in Cairo students days. The Stations is a relief to hear. My favorite tunes, Alright now - Free and Goldon lightfoot selections. Salam to all

  • 6.04 and then in heb hadashot shaa arbaa..4. Ye well nice

  • I was told voice of peace is still alive. Is that true?

  • @pettymolly There is a 'hobby' station using the call sign online with its own web site, but, most of the broadcasters have had little contact with the original Voice Of Peace, they are using the call sign as a 'Tribute'.

  • @DSVOP You are incorrect in what you say. The VoP is up and running and the Jocks on there are mostly the jocks that have broadcast from the original Peace ship. We do need as much support as possible. Remember, the 'original VoP was a forward thinking station that brought people new music and DJ's. So, having new voices broadcasting on the VoP is not new and is in keeping with the spirit of the original .thevoiceofpeace.co.il. Happy listening.

  • @dalmations32 Thank you for endeavouring to correct me, but, I stand by my post. The 'hobby station' online is NOT the Voice of Peace, 'Radius 100' from Israel operate a Voice of Peace service too, and that is not the Voice of Peace.

Most of the broadcasters are also NOT from the Voice of Peace, some are, but not all. Most are fans and lovers of the original station, excellent, but, it is not The Voice of Peace.

This type of debate has been going on for years over at Radio Caroline.Peace :-)

  • @pettymolly Try thevoiceofpeace.co.il you will find them there!

  • Brings back great memories of my days on the Peace Ship - happy times.

  • Thanks for bringing back fond memories of TVOP , I was a regular listener in back in the 70s in Cyprus ..... Shalom

  • Nice post 'radprog' and good quality. Cheers.

  • wow thank you for uploading this!! its opened memories i had in the back of my mind lol.

growing up in israel this was the radio station that was always on in the house. it tought me the diversity of music, introduced me to music not just from USA or England but all over the world.

    thank you

  • We need more peace ships today, rather then just walking into other peoples countries.

  • Thank you!

  • Mike?

  • This brings back memories. I worked on Voice of Peace in 1980. Did everything, deckhand, cook, even did the classical programme for a while. Loved every minute of it, one of the best experiences of my life.

The DJ in the clip looks like Crispian St John from the back.

  • Certainly the DJ on air is Crispian St John the late Howard Rose.

  • MFO Peacekeeping force....1988-1989...listened to and recorded lots of hours as well as the Israeli military radio station out of Yaffo?....loved it...and still do.

  • OWW,i listened to this station every day, when

  • He should have one the nobel peace prize instead of going to jail.

Wonderful man who will maybe find the respect he deserved posthumously.

    Ani ahavtee otha

  • Listening to this gives me chills.

I listened to this station as it was the best (and only?) pop radio in the middle east in the '70s.

A station with a genuine cause and message broadcasting at crucial time.

This web site is to be believed. Thank you for this posting.

    Peace! Salaam! Shalom! La paix!

G-d grant it to all all!

  • it's about time this was dug out of the archives.
