    BANZAI

  • funny how you can make fun of the french, russians, italians, germans, poles, the english, etc. but god forbid you make fun of other ethnic groups who don't come from europe.

    white guilt at its worse.

  • Ok people heres how it is, the only people who should be offended by this are the japanese americans who fought in the american military at the time (there were look it up the 442nd regiment), I dont mind japanese people most of the ones who are alive today wether they live in japan or anywhere else have nothing to do with pearl harbor or nanking, or burma, but the japanese imperialist leaders were awful people, they were no better than the german nazis they were allied with.

  • eeh whatsa upa Honorable doc???

  • Theres no 6:58....

  • im half japanese and am not offended by this, given the time period it was made.

  • Masashi Kishimoto chasing Bugs Bunny so he can drw him in his manga LOL...

  • the business is boomin line...wonder if Tarantino got that for Inglourious Basterds after watch this

  • 27 people are politically correct and lead Boring lives.

  • LMAO.. This was way too funny. I agree slant eyes and monkeyface was taking it too far but the rest wasn't horribly racist.

  • it was made during the 40s so everyone stop bitching most likely your grandparents watched this and laughed their heads off

  • If you are against this type of cartoon and it's original meaning you are..one not fit to be an American and two a sad excuse for an adult..Poor lil babies have your sensitive uninformed feelings hurt. Fail you puddings.

  • Thats really wrong but freakin' funny

  • ahhh the good ole days! hahah..justkidding.

  • Welcome to WWII Propaganda... I honestly don't find it very funny nor do I find their anti-German short's funny it is no better than the anti-Jewish Propaganda Hitler spewed not gonna lie I am a fan of the Japanese and German culture I find it very interesting... But my dislike of this garbage has nothing to do with my interest in their cultures; this is more of a political view I feel the same about Disney's anti-German/ Japanese cartoons too... Just an opinion we are all entitled to them

  • 3:00 Why would he apologize to a Japanese general in English? These cartoons... NO SENSE of realism...

  • Love it

  • Next we have "bugs beats women with a hose". and "bugs lights puppy's on fire". finally the classic "bugs touches billy in his special place"

  • If only the cartoons of today were like this, with a lot of black humor .-.

  • "Here you are slant-eyes" 6:17

  • "Not wanting make hari-kari?" 3:05

  • i know this paints the japanese in a bad light, but there is a reason, those japanese attacked us at pearl harbor, its those japanese that we paint in a bad image, not all japanese today.

  • This is probably the most ANNOYING Bugs Bunny cartoon I have ever seen. Cant that stupid Japanese kid SHUT THE HELL UP.

  • It's easy to watch today and be insulted. Thankfully the world has evolved from such (blatant) racism. These cartoons should be viewed in a more historical context. After all, this was made in 1944 when most Americans were war-weary, an in need of a laugh. What better way then to lift spirits then to see Bugs Bunny demoralize and make fun of your enemy.

  • Settle down. It's a WWII propaganda cartoon that is an unfortunate reflection of what was happening at the time. You have to admit parts are funny.

View it in context, and be glad we can all laugh at ourselves and others, together on the internet, knowing none of us is hostile towards each other.

Also, that we live in a different world now, where we realize these kinds of characterizations and beliefs are not acceptable. Still, you have to laugh.

  • That was awful.

  • title is really racist, but WHATEVER

  • @TheChipmunkSwag

That's the name of the cartoon.

  • @HostageKiller lol i know

  • LMAO 2:19

  • What happened to these kind of cartoons? They were so much better than the trash you see today.

  • @Llortish Completely agreed. I grew up watching Looney Tunes and still watch it on Cartoon Network.

  • One of the best documentaries I've seen on YouTube.

  • Bugs - "He you go Bow Legs, Monkey Face, Slant-Eyes everybody gets one! " Nips - .......ICE-CLEAM!!!

  • People tend to forget these cartoons were made in WW II; on that time, it's obvious Americans weren't too fond on Japanese.

  • @tinynicktune does that give an excuse to still air offensive material, I don't like Christianity, but I don't like people taking their religious icons and making fun of them

  • 16 People are Anime Freaks.

  • @VTwinty 17 people dont like sterotypes, do you like it when other countries portray Americans as fat, and shoot everything, incase you didnt know after the tsunami in Japan stores cut prices and people didnt loot damaged stores, look what americans did in after Hurricane Katrina, on average they have higher moral standards than most countries

  • @FengZeXiao actually only new orleans looted stores and did all that shit during hurricane katrina

  • this one is bound to offend a ton of people.

  • HO HO SIRRY AMERICAN, YOU CANNOT SPIT SHINE VERCRO SNEAKERS.

  • why can't that Japanese dude just SHUT UP??!? no wonder they banned it... too many people's ears fell off ;)

  • Oh sweet lord.. so awesome. XD

  • JAPS

    HUNDREDS OF EM

  • Malditos Yakis racistas de mierd....

  • FUCKA YOU RABBIT

    YOU A KILLA MY GRANDPA

  • It's a my greta greta grandfather, Honorable Pvt. Tojo-san.

  • lol we were at WAR! People celebrated when Osama died because we are at war with Al Queda, this is the same principle but in WWII the enemy was much easier to ID. Because we're not at war with all Arabs you'll never see a new-cartoon where Sponge Bob attacks a man in a turban with an AK-47 but if we WERE fighting a country rather than idealism who can say?

  • @whynaughtychris We're so PC nowadays that nothing like that would ever air anymore.

  • @whynaughtychris What are you talking about? These japanese bugs bunny cartoons were eventually banned back then. So even then, there existed intelligent people who knew racism when they saw it. Thank God for them. We should never cater to the lowest common denominator, even if they happen to be the majority.

Today, the majority are still against gay marriage. Just because they are the majority doesn't mean people should put up with intolerant shit that caters to their prejudice.

  • Business is literally boomin.

  • 15 wapanese kids were not amused.

  • @MrRaspberryNutsack make that 16

  • @MrRaspberryNutsack weeaboos with no sense of humor...so sad even otaku's don't talk to weeaboos.(yes i know i'm using alot of jaopanese phrases but damnit i like manga to much to not know a few things..and 4 years of aikikai)

  • Bugs Bunny's a geisha!

  • bugs bunny actually is a marine he is a master sergeant

  • ok them damn 15 dislikes are all fuckin japs

  • If we all want to put on our skirts and be offended by a cartoon poking fun at a country the US was probably still at war with during the production of this cartoon, then maybe we can all get over the racism by being collectively offended by all Looney Tunes Cartoons since they depict a Rabbit as being smarter than any human of any color or race. Just get over it, please. They are cartoons.

  • LOL emperor hirohito

  • @yakataah what idea you want to getting at?

  • @Fringuis

    About what?

  • uh whats-a up honorable doc? lol

  • to all you PC people that think this is offensive to Japan, Go ask the millions damaged by Japan in China and Korea between 1910-1945.

  • This material is priceless, classic stuff here bow legs.. Love that ol' Bugs Bunny and when he goes after the Japs - we more cartoons like this today.. More balls and less swat !

  • @EmperorRay1 See, exactly.

  • Some of the comments here are disgusting. It seems that the extreme levels of racism did not die off as the years went on.

  • @shadoweon If you're that "offended" then turn it off and don't watch it.

  • People who are offended by this should think for a moment. How many jokes have you seen about Osama Bin Laden and terrorists on TV since 9/11? If you've laughed at Achmed the Dead Terrorist, you have no right saying this is offensive, as it was only the same thing all those years ago.

  • I think US government should give a medal to bugs bunny

  • Wow. This is so racist by today's standards.

And is hilarious because of it, for all the wrong reasons.

  • Hey, they left out the part where the Jap was talking on his phone in the library!

  • Defending an act of war and justifying racism are two different things, kids.

  • Ahh the good ol' days when racism was allowed to be in the open. Bringing these back would probably ease some the tension in the world.

  • @Sorcoral Or give Kim Jong Il another reason to bomb us, although I hear he is actually quite fond of Team America, strange, maybe he has a sense of humour....

  • It sounds more Vietnamese than Japanese.

  • I'm not saying this video is in anyway non-racist or non-offensive, but if they banned this episode, they should've banned all the episodes making fun of nazis too. The Japanese imperial army might not have tried to commit genocide, but they did kill at least as many people and commit even more horrifying atrocities - they just never really got that much attention due to the US - Jap alliance (or client-state system) that was set up almost immediately after WW2

  • I didnt mean to go on a rant there, think i misinterrpreted what ya wrotte. my apologies. im just so dissapointed in ppl in my generation writing things off like that.

they forget too easily. im 25 but feel much older lol

  • LOL, Geisha Bunny.

  • @1Metcalfe nice argument.

  • I agree with @nutcase1969 the Japs were a determined enemy. After Cape Gloucester, Peleliu and Okinawa thousands of US casualties had racked up and an invasion of Japan itself was projected to cost 1 million US lives. Many more civilians would have died in the blood-bath if those bombs had NOT been dropped.

  • @sonofbeliol

You're a moron. If you knew anything about WWII, you'd know Japan was running ragged in both resources and soldiers and little pressure was needed for the Emperor to surrender. The "the war would have gone on" excuse is both inaccurate as it is offensive.

  • @animelover129 This was released April 22, 1944 at that stage of the war the US hadn't even made the Solomons and was slugging it out in New Guinea and the Marshall Islands. There was another year to go before The Okinawa Campaign.

  • LOL This is so wrong but so hilarious.

  • my bf's japanese, he takes this in surprisingly good faith lol

he knows i'm studying this for the animation.

  • i still feel bad for the people at hiroshima and nagasaki tho,

isnt their fault their military government didnt take the bomb threats seriously

  • so im guessing the ending is referencing nagasaki and hiroshima?

the guy got blown up but came back for more ice cream and got blown up again?

    wow haha thats fucked

  • @animelover129

Says the guy with the name "animelover" in it. Says a lot about you.

Comment made deserves and needs more ridicule.

  • I'm Asian and i find this hilarious!

  • @nutcase1969 well obviously the U.S covered it up and blamed it on Japan so that the U.S could join the war and make a shit ton of money. Educate yourself man.

  • Comment removed

  • @nirvo25 you're a fucking moron

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe it wouldnt be so bad if he didn't speak lol

but it's history, it's over with, it happened, funny

  • @2:22 I got freaked right the fuck out when he started his battle cries! LOL

  • I don't want to hear anything about the 2 bombs we gave Japan 2 chances to surrender and they didn't. Even after we dropped the first bomb they didn't surrender. So they pretty much asked for it blame there pride not us.

  • Ok the part from 3:08 to 3:33 was pretty damn funny.

  • they can't even do japs right he has a scimitar not a katana

  • @nutcase1969 Typical american thing to say.

  • @hammel54

And I was 100 percent right. If the Japs didn't wan't Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombed, then they should have stayed away from Pearl Harbor. President Truman said that he didn't lose a minutes sleep over his decision to drop the bombs.

  • @nutcase1969 - Indeed, dropping a bomb ended the war... but at what cost? How many innocent lives do you think ended suddenly, were cut short, because of what America did?

We ended the war... by murdering many who weren't necessarily our enemies.

And yet Japan is now our ally. Funny how that works, huh?

  • @Dan00bindahouse The atomic bombings killed 250,000 Japanese Civilians. However, projections of an invasion stated that Operation Downfall would kill 11 million, including 10 million civilians. These projections were based on Japanese resistance on the islands, the training of civilians to fight American soldiers, and especially from the Battle of Okinawa. The Japanese would fight on without quit, as proved through countless battles over the previous 10 years.

  • @montereypopfestiva67 I am glad that there are still some intelligent people on the internet. I am so very tired of the idiots :)

  • elitist pigs haha

the internet is a retard race

even if you win the argument you are still a retard

jesus im chinese and i have alot of japanese friends

even if the chinese was screwed over by the japanese so damn hard

i only hate people the screw me over personaly so just forget about history assholes

  • I love Bugs Bunny.

  • "here you are slant eyes"

    LOLOLOL

  • 6:14 , here one for you monkey face

  • i don't get somthing here ...

bugs bunny has drawn the old flag of japan! then the japanese wiped it out !!

  • AMERICA

    FUCK YEAH

  • Subtlety has no place in slapstick, especially propaganda slapstick.

  • Why does buggs bunny always seem to be in dragg?

  • today it's terrorist ragheads in the movies

  • someone's rockin my dream boat....

  • Things were so different back then. I bet now if you made a bugs bunny cartoon where he blows up terrorists people would be offended. But back then, anything goes.

  • @BaggythePanther

And yet today Jeff Dunham and his disgusting racist puppets continue to perform sold-out shows across the country.

  • @akumacornflakes its not racist its comedy if people dont learn to take jokes then people end up more ignorent then racists

  • @1990supersonic

Of course it's vitriolic, racist propaganda bullshit for people like you. You are just to fucking stupid to get it, you motherfucking cocksucker.

  • @pettycuntweasel listen you troll im not going to stopp to your level because im better then you so i suggest if you dont like it then go

  • "Ice cream!"

  • That's a nice camel toe on the sumo warrior ... pretty disgusting ... Awesome cartoon, however. How quickly we (well, some of us) forget about the first amendment. It's great when someone wants to cry about racism (which is as TIRED and old as racism itself), but it's forgotten when there's any opposing opinion. Shut up! Live your life. Not everyone is going to get along.

  • I agree with va3svd! Imagine how people felt about that film during WWII. That pushed so many people to help our country, my country, YOUR country in such unprecedented time! We needed any kind if moral and while these film writers couldn't help by fighting, they helped with genius scripts like these. This wasn't the only one, either. Believe me!

  • Wow. It's incredible how racist people can be. Regardless of how the Japanese were seen at that time, it's sick to put something like this into the minds of innocent children.

  • Comment removed

  • @cutelittledeadpeople These cartoons used to be shown before movies. It was probably mostly adults who watched them

  • @cutelittledeadpeople I just watched a Japanese wartime anime movie called Momotaro's Divine Sea Warriors which features cute little animals brutally killing stupid, easily-defeated Westerners. The final image is of little animals pretended to parachute onto a drawing of the U.S. in the dirt.

So it wasn't just westerners who used racism and propaganda in their entertainment at the times. Plus, "Momotoro" was specifically aimed at children, something this Bugs cartoon was not.

  • @cutelittledeadpeople In the era that this cartoon was made, cartoons were not made strictly for kids. They were actually shown in movie theaters for general audiences to see. The cartoon was made to boost morale on the homefront.

  • Good Classic Walt Disney WWII Propagranda :)

  • @mureleeish its warner bros actually.

  • @mureleeish its warne bros

  • @mureleeish good *propaganda* if i may add.you don't think all other country's do the SAME thing?stop being politically correect

  • @mureleeish I'm not sure if I misunderstood your comment, but this isn't Disney.

  • @PorcupineWeirdo Yeah you're right. I was being dumb. But Walt Disney did do several propaganda cartoons as well.

  • That-a not-a japanese-a generar! Oh, no, that-a Bugs Bunny! I are here in warnah brothah reon schresingah merry merody cartoon pictah! Oh yes, he no foor-a me!

  • This is exactly what world war 2 was like.

  • Who's told you that americans didn't learn from this lesson,my grandfather was a pacifist at this time.peoples who didn't learned a good lesson should burn in hell but the others can be forgiven with the time.I'm young but I dont want another world war because of stupid and racist comments on the net.BTW americans make some good cartoons but they didn't really think about a good script which wouldn't offend anyone.

  • "There ya go monkey face, Here you are 'slant eyes' "

    -Bugs Bunny

    HA!!!

  • The atrocities commited by these inhuman assholes deserves no forgiveness and to say boo hoo how can you be so racist? What are you ,nuts? They raped and killed with no reason more than a milliom people in the chinese city of Nanking! Mercy my ass!

  • Comment removed

  • well it certainly was a diffrent time.

  • It's funny that this guy's accent is much more similar to chinese than to japanese. Funny that these racial stereotype were allowed to exist as recent as this.

  • Is he painting flags to mark his kills?

  • @russix009 He is painting the flags to mark his victories...

  • oooh not wanting make hari-kari (ritual suicide) LMAO!!

  • If the Japs are offended, then screw them. They should have stayed away from Pearl Harbor.

  • @nutcase1969 You ever heard of Nagasaki or Hiroshima? Well Pearl Harbour was a small graze on the knee in comparison to the annihilation that the Americans rained down on them. The bombings at Pearl Harbour was aimed at the naval base - trained soldiers. Whereas the A-bombs dropped on Japan killed mainly civilians. Well done for being short sighted and racist.

  • @SpinalTapGal so you mean to tell us that the japs didn't kill civilians? get real and do a little research dipshit. i don't feel at all sorry for them.

  • @1Metcalfe Actually they killed comparatively less, though if every life is equal then it's just as bad. They aimed at a naval base -as I've mentioned. Randomly destroying heavily populated areas where no known military bases are is still wrong. I don't condone either side, but it's very short sighted to only see one side as being in the wrong. Also fretting about things that happened over 50 years ago is childish. Why hold a grudge which leads to racism?

  • @SpinalTapGal I understand where you are coming from but you can't forget how savage the Japanese were. They raped and killed a very large amount of the population of the Chinese city of Nanking. There was the Bataan Death March which killed countless Allied POWs. They faught with no restraint. They in no way followed the Geneva Convention which put down restrictions on war. i know that seems like an impossibility but many nations tried to follow. We werent saints but you cant forget the facts

  • @bobbymidnight316 Well exactly, my point was though, that racism for the sake of a grudge is pointless and lowers that person to their level. I wasn't saying that they were blameless, or that they were less in the wrong, just that there was a brutal history on all sides. Thanks for your comment though, you've got the facts right. I wasn't forgetting their treatment but I was pointing out that there was behaviour like that on all sides.

  • @nutcase1969

Yes, I have heard of them. The USA was 100 percent justified in bombing them. If the japs had stayed out of Pearl Harbor, then Hiroshima and Nagasaki would have never been bombed. The japs did it to themselves. I'm not short sighted or racist, but you are a true dipshit. My dad fought those bastards. In 1944 and 1945 they were trying to kill him. I don't have any sympathy for them. I have forgiven them, but the US was justified in doing what was necessary to win that war.

  • @nutcase1969 shut yo bitch ass up i'm not even a jap but you sound PATHETIC forreal just shut the hell up that don't mean they can be racist bout how they look buck teeth squinty eyes lil mustache.

  • @nutcase1969 Your brainwashed. Your dad was a tool. He may have been brave and tough or whatever, or maybe he was just drafted and too chickenshit to say fuck you to the state. whatever the case he was used, but you are a fool. "I'm not racist" you say, then you say your dad fought "those bastards". Do you know any of those "bastards"? ... Did your dad know any of those "bastards"? Painting an entire nation of people you don't know as whatever is a bigoted view.

  • @nutcase1969 I've visited your ugly little country. I know there are a lot of people who are not brainwashed and who are discontent with the state. This is our fucking world. It's only a matter of time before you nationalist bigots and ignorant brainwashed fuck heads are a thing of the past. Go die.

  • @nutcase1969

You're a fucking nutcase dumbass who knows nothing about history

  • @nutcase1969

You're nuts, I guess your username is appropriate. Because the GOVERNMENT of Japan decided to attack a NAVAL BASE, you're saying it's entirely justified to bomb CIVILIAN CITIES and kill women, children and old people in the process.

You're the reason no one likes USA. My family fought against the Axis too and I'm not being a dipshit about it.

  • @yakataah

The Japs should have stayed away from Pearl Harbor. President Truman said that he never lost a minutes sleep over dropping the bomb. The Japs were ruthless and would have done the same thing to us if they had had the same bombs. Every inch of free soil that exists in this world is there because American soldiers fought and died. The United States of America owes no apologies to anyone for standing up for liberty and freedom.

  • @nutcase1969

So the president was an ass, that justified murdering thousands of civilians, amirite?

"Every inch of free soil that exists in this world is there because American soldiers fought and died."

LOL YOU SO INSANE. Way to ignore the sacrifices made by the English, the French and the Canadians :D

You know nothing about WWII, do you? I'm betting that your next comment will be along the lines of "weh! weh! they did nothing compared to usss!1!"

Also, you country never freed the world.

  • @yakataah Are you saying that the American president was any worse than the Japanese Emperor who ordered murder of thousands of Americans?

Can't add anything to English or Canadians but French!? They not only surrendered to Germans without a single fight but were the reason Hitler gained power in the first place. If somebody should be praised for defeating Nazi Germany it's definitely not French.

Like was said before, bombings of Hirosima and Nagasaki were justified - Japan attacked first.

  • @IP6000

I'm saying that if I was personally responsible for giving the order that killed thousands, I would not be so smug about it. I'd have trouble sleeping at night even if their deaths meant the end of a war. But that's probably because I actually care about human beings regardless of what country they were born in.

I love how everyone makes fun of the surrendering French, but no one says the same thing about the Polish. Also, ever heard of La Resistance? Learn some history, please.

  • @yakataah For someone thinking that unarmed soldiers in peaceful times are lesser human beings than those in the cities you sure care much about the humanity as such. Tell me if I'm being too sarcastic.

I don't make fun of French - I point out what pussies they were. And why the hell should I mention Polish - they do not pass themselves off as a nation that heavily contributed to defeating Germany. I know history well enough to know that Poland didn't get any territories in Berlin.
