Whence do you have it that Venus is the planet of music? As far as I know, it should be the sun (which in older days was considered a planet) - associated with Apollo, the lyre-playing god of (among others) music, and the father of the nine Muses...
Not that it wouldn't make sense to associate music and love (or sex, which is also what Venus is about), I just don't think it's in the ancient tradition of this goddess?
@ZolotayaKoshka "THE THEOI MOUSIKOI were the gods of music, dance and education in the arts. They were led by the Olympian twins Apollo and Artemis, the former presiding over music and poetry, and the latter over the choirs and dances of girls. Other important musical gods included the nine Muses, the dancing Charites or Graces, and the musical demi-gods Hymenaeus and Linos. Dionysus, Hermes and Aphrodite were also gods of music and the arts." -- theoi.com/greek-mythology/olympian-gods.html
It is of course fine with me if present day astrology, or vedic ditto, makes this connection. But I am not entirely convinced as to the ancient Greek tradition."Theoi mousikoi" may translate as 'the musean gods', meaning the gods who are concerned with the art in the broadest sense, not only music. So Venus being placed on their list may only mean that she was connected to, for instance, painting or dancing. Also, on the theoidotcom-site, there is no (...)
@Parysia77 (...) reference to an ancient source linking Venus and music. The closest we get is the myth of Harmonia being the daughter of Ares and Aphrodite. But in some versions of that myth, Harmonia has other parents. So it's still inconclusive to me.
But don't you worry about that! For the purpose of your video, it makes fine sense to mix older and newer, eastern and western traditions to create your own Venus... I just got curious.
@ZolotayaKoshka Thank you for your comments. I admit that my video representation of Venus is a synthesis of many traditions, ancient and modern. Venus is associated with many things, even with vegetable gardens (saw that on Thinkquest), but I only mentioned her most aesthetically pleasing attributes.
@ZolotayaKoshka According to Vedic astrology: "Rajasik in nature, Venus belongs to the Brahmin caste. An embodiment of love, he is a benefic planet and governs the refined attributes, romance, beauty, sensuality, passion, comforts, luxuries, jewelry, wealth, art, music, dance, season of spring, rains and the bed-room."

@ZolotayaKoshka "All things that are pleasant and leisurely are symbolised by Venus. Her domain is music, art, games, dancing, acting and all things that are used for adornment or ornamentation, such as perfumes, cosmetics, jewellery and fine fabrics." -- Weboteric Astrology website

@ZolotayaKoshka Very nice -- thank you for sharing that. I'd probably have been better off just sticking to images with no text. :) It was a challenge to represent Venus as a bringer of peace, because she is associated with so much mischief in Greco-Roman folklore. When I saw her associated with music, I was eager to include that among her attributes because "music hath charms to soothe a savage breast" (William Congreve).
@Parysia77 No, I don't agree that you should have stuck to images with no text. You integrated the text well - I personally am fastidious on that point and easily get annoyed at text to music, but you managed to do it tastefully :-) So don't hold back on that in the future.
@lara8550able Thank you for your kind comment! I just subscribed to your channel -- you have some great videos and I will be back to enjoy more. The poem you shared, "A Sad Memory" by Yiruma, really touched me -- so moving and so true. It's hard to understand why people have to be so mean sometimes, especially when it's people we love and trust, but thank God for the peacemakers of the world. Love and many blessings to you, Gilda
