the camaro was built for straight line speed, ferrari more for cornering, so it's not really a good comparison, just bragging rights for the camaro to say they can beat a ferrari in a drag
even an fxx, equipped with slicks and stripped would have trouble with this car at the true proving ground for cars like this.
a road circuit.
on the strip, this car would destroy anything ferrari ever built.
don't get me wrong, i love ferrari,....
TIFOSI!
i just happen to know that this car is built to be as brutally fast as a streetcar can be, and is equipped for any manner of competition. it really is very very special.
1500 horsepower in a tube frame race car with fully adjustable supension, the very biggest tires that can be stuffed under the sheetmetal and all of the tuning expertise that an entire staff and support crew that one of the most technical and innovative automotive publications can assemble.
this is not some off the shelf detroit muscle car; if you had listened, you might have heard some of the specifications of this car.
but ferraris are not made to compete with 1500hp unuseable beast, not that it´s not nice muscle car, but ferraris are made for mountain roads, to ride with comfort, this is completely different, that´s not even car anymore, its racing machine. and I dont think it can compare with top models on track, just like any other sports car cannot compare with this in drag race
david frieberger is a visionary in the automotive world; this car was built to be a daily driver and was driven every day for a month. it was also designed to compete on road courses; it was only equipped with drag slicks and narrow drag specific front tires, but is capable of fitting ultra fat road racing tires when necessary. this car was built to compete in a variety of disciplines of competition. it may not beat an fxx on a road course, but it would be closer than you would think.
stop trying to defend ferrari's. they're not made to compete with 1500hp cars...like you said. so the comparison is pointless. ferrari is for the rich and lazy. id rather build a badass car for half the money which would kill a ferrari. just like this one.
im pretty sure any muscle car from the 60's and70's could perfectly compete with ferrari being both cars stock, if you compare them with 60's and 70's ferrari street models.
that have about 220 hp and not very well. and if you compare them with other european cars they will just kick ass. a 71 porsche 911 had 110 hp and was known for being dangerous to drive with an insanely bad weight balance.
what are you talking about? on a race track the ferrari prolly has him. drag race...no contest. no production car is gonna come close to beating 1500hp. what are you thinking. the veyron might give em some competition cuz its 4wd.
You cant honestly belive that... The ferrarri costs 300K they worked on this car for a year. One mans salary building it was probably alone 30K which is your 10% right there.
A derated 1200 HP version if this engine is 33,000 dollars alone. if you done belive me, go look at nelson supercars website.
that is all absolutely right. work like this don't come cheap; i am actually inclined to believe that BikerTrashWolf is quoting conservative estimates about the cost of this build. the tech's that do this work get PAID for their hours; this ain't your local auto body crap.
custom monocoque/tube steel frame and cage.
brutal twin turbo 1500 hp STREETABLE stock hood profile SMALL BLOCK!
over here we have a street legal, ford cortina with a big block chevy, with two scania truck turbos on it..running in the 9 at 160..only hooks up about half way down the strip...got about 1500 bhp
they used an aproxamate size intercooler and plumbing frome the turbo's because the car is still in fabracation and the reall plumbing will be done with the engine in the car and the intercooler is probly used on any number differint engines in the dyno room set up to be placed and adjusted in place on a floor instead of in a car
haha...what a crazy car. Though, I would have to say, I would take either the Ferrari or the Camaro...they're two completely different animals, but both are fun ways to go fast. Thanks for posting this vid!
So, uh how about trying to beat the Ferrari around a track instead of in a drag race, which has never been Ferrari's focus? Or is that too easy?

eww 360 Spyder. Let's see it try a F430 with a F1 package. Or a FXX if you wanna say it can beat a Ferrari.
