I think an old game called Soldier of Fortune had a violence lock, you could play the bloody gore version or the less bloody no gore version.... why didn´t they make the same No more heroes? And why is the japan version censored...the JAPAN version?

Actually contrary to popular belief the Japanese DO have limits when it comes to viloence/gore. Example all versions of Resident Evil 4 released in Japan (GC, PS2, Wii) were censored. Namely scences involving decapitation...
i like the ashes version (i live in UK) and I think I prefer it to the blood one. Mainly because I don't think video games are about random gore and decapatations I think its actually a clever idea.
This game is all about being over the top in everything. Dialogue, action, and gore. The bloody one fits with this game perfectly. The ashes...really just doesn't make any sense however you look at it.
Actually, I was just pausing the vid to check, and she doesn't really pull her arm away, she simply bends her arm impossibly fast and at an odd angle so you see a "broken" arm instead of a stump. The sword definitely makes contact in both versions, see for yourself.
DieHard, if you get all the beam katanas, you can unlock the 'real ending', which will answer your question. Anyway, I thought Dark Star was cool. I wish I could've fought him.

The save files work perfectly, i have a PAL console working on the US version and no problems, wow i bought the US version just to see whats going on and now comparing the 2, well you see everything in the US and the other versions, well self explanatory.
I find it hilarious that so many people in these videos comment on how stupid the English one is, when it was censored in Japan where it bloody well came from.

I don't understand this...this seems backwards to me. The japanese version has the blood and gore cut out? The US version doesn't? I'm not complaining, but our tv networks friggin censored Dragon Ball Z for petes sake...this just seems backwards to me. Oh well, its about time we got something uncensored.

Actually contrary to popular belief the Japanese DO have limits when it comes to viloence/gore. Example all versions of Resident Evil 4 released in Japan (GC, PS2, Wii) were censored. Namely scences involving decapitation...

i like the ashes version (i live in UK) and I think I prefer it to the blood one. Mainly because I don't think video games are about random gore and decapatations I think its actually a clever idea.

This game is all about being over the top in everything. Dialogue, action, and gore. The bloody one fits with this game perfectly. The ashes...really just doesn't make any sense however you look at it.

If you watch it again, you can see Jeane pull her hand away just in time, the blade never connects.
Also, I wonder why Shinobu calls Travis, "Master" in the Japanese version.

Actually, I was just pausing the vid to check, and she doesn't really pull her arm away, she simply bends her arm impossibly fast and at an odd angle so you see a "broken" arm instead of a stump. The sword definitely makes contact in both versions, see for yourself.

I agree with you to a certain extent.
She did get hit, but she definitely didn't lose the arm. When they lose limbs in the Japanese version it will show it.
Here's an example, Death Metal, he lost both his arms in the Japanese version and US version. Jeane and Shinobu doesn't.

henry goes to kill travis, in the real ending, you can unlock it if you have all the beam katanas, there are just 4 its not very diffcult, henry goes to fight with travis but its not clear who dies

The save files work perfectly, i have a PAL console working on the US version and no problems, wow i bought the US version just to see whats going on and now comparing the 2, well you see everything in the US and the other versions, well self explanatory.

Given that this game was made in Japan where they can have decapitation in their cartoons with no problem, you'd think that you wouldn't see anything censored, but different countries have certain laws.

i did that, unfortantly my wii put me on the mii channel when i booted it up evuantally. exit the mii channel and i was greeted with the mii channel. so i had to get a new wii, which was kinda bs

I should like to point out that the versions used in Comparison are the Japanese and US versions, as well as the fact that Suda 51, the games creator, was the one who ultimately decided on the censorship in the first place.
