  • Nice jam, very original sound

What gauge of strings are you using ?

  • He may not know eastern scales, but his playing is pretty nice. It works well. Dorian sitar jams might be the next big thing, haha.

  • this song makes my elbow tickle nice job mate

  • Needs a little more production, but i love the playing.

  • I don't know why people say playing a guitar like this live would be embarrasing. It's a real guitar with real piezo pickups with a signal processor. All piezo-loaded electrics use some form of signal processing...unless you want it to sound like shit. I have a piezo bridge in my PRS, and if you open the control cavity ZOMG! there's two processor chips in it. One for the acoustic EQ and one for Midi synth.

This is the same as that, without the mag pickups. You can route the body, and add 'em.

  • Where's the pick ups?

  • @thehardcoreguitarist built in mate :)

  • @thehardcoreguitarist Piezo pickups in the bridge and a shit load of DSP power to change their signals to just about anything you want (Sitar, Banjo, 12 String Richenbacher, 12 String acoustic, Strat, Telly, Les Paul etc etc)

  • This is absolutely okay for studio recordings.

But playing live on a modeling guitar is embarrassing, i think. Back to the roots, man!

  • I don't know bro..... If you really want to be different or stand out you might be able to play it without embarrassment. I kinda like the whole modelling concept. Although you're right, the roots are always better.

  • Not always! But i do have a Pod XT live and its is not that good with out a variax guitar.

  • Well , I own too a Variax. And last summer I was at a big festival, and was watching a band ( can't remember which one ) and suddenly I hear a sitar sound ( AND A VERY GOOD ONE ! ) and then went closer and suddenly saw it was the same guitar as mine ! It was amazing! And sounded real good! and the stage was huge !

  • No offense but that doesn't sound like a sitar at all.

  • are these guitars expensive?

who's the manufacturer? variax must be the model, right?

  • you can pick up a line 6 variax nowadays for about £700+?

    brilliant guitars for studio

  • @MortallicA91 they're made by Line 6. Very good cost/benefit IMHO. I have a model 600. The sitar is nearly as good as the other emulations but it sounds quite nice if you use a POD XT/X3 in the right settings for the Variax.

  • Damn hottie , guitar of course and sitar effect ;)

  • its not jazz, its not a metal guitar....weird eastern ish stuff maybe...good axe tho

  • @jabasoo Not easternish eighter. The player doesnt seem to know eastern scales at all.. Wich would be basic i guess, if you wanna get some nice sitar tunes.

  • Tha's a wooden guitar :-)

  • I thought his playing indian music ???

  • You should try the sitar model with a wah, sounds like a cat crying... :p

  • People who say this sound's like a score for a porno hit...learn your music. I'd say it sound's like "eastern" ambient/ electronica.

  • no thanks i don't buy anything from you.

  • o my good.. invisibl-mics jajaja and yea is like a porn movie sound.. playboy 4 ever!!

  • sounds like a porn movie soundtrack

  • I totally agree!! ;D

  • haha true

  • @kallistimunich porn from India too.
