it would idle below 900rpm but just barely. 750rpm is right out. I have pistons w nearly 11:1 c/r for the next build and that migbht make it bounce around more at idle.
the cams will work in a vg33, but you'd need valve springs and some supporting mods. In a heavy truck like a pathfinder, I'd stay away from the 280's. The biggest I'd recommend is 270 unless you want no low end, even then 260's might be better. How often to you rev it to 6500?
truck redlines at 5900 rpm, i usually don't get on it on a daily basis i would just like more grunt passing on interstates and what not. it'd be a while before i would even get into the engine to gain more power but cams was always on my list of to do's. i would guess i need a custom tune as well as headers and maybe some head work.
GOOOOOOOD shit man sounds nice..... Mine is carbed.. obviously.. I was lookin at JWT.. but isky you say? I just want the biggest cams i can get.. idol doesnt matter.. just want the best powergains.. ( top end) Since youve went through it all already.. what do you sugest.. im in the process of hooking up the n2o...so keep that inmind with the spray.. thanks man
I would not recommend the 280's unless you have done major headwork and have headers. Compare lifat at .050" because the Iskys seem to have more aggressive ramps per adv duration. This gind is doggy below 3500 and really comes alive above 4500. I wont go into the woes of VG's but supporting mods are critical! I'm even in the process of building a "better" intake manifold w/ 70mm T/B to see if there is improvement and its very possible there wont be... Check out the 1-st through 3rd pulls

I see that you have zero vids of any car that you own. Put up or shut up.

considering thats @ 1100rpm, i'd say they'd be pretty lopey if it was idling at the spec of 750rpm.

would these cams work in the vg33e found in the frontier/xterra? my frontier has the n/a vg33e and boy she needs more grunt.
