Great set up, lovely wee moves. Got a idea for a twin Torqeedo 1003's stripped down to there shafts and fixed onto a Old Town preditor with a purpose made extention onto back transom. keep em fixed in forward drive and fit a rudder. bring the two batterys forward two thirds the length of the boat with extention cable's, remove tillers and fit remote throtle, any comments....ideas... in regards to remote rudder by servo posibilities...? help...

Everything is super cool, but u need a life jacket at hand dude if that canoe flips you won't believe how fast those golf cart batteries will be pulling everything to the bottom including yourself, or make them just seat free not bolted to the boat with a roll of nylon and a buoy for latter retrieval.... ernest.

This is sooo tight, i thought the canoe motor being contolled by the Wii nunchuck was cool, but the trailer you built is ingenius, good music too, really nice vid

Those batteries weigh over 120 pounds, so even in the middle, they are significant ballast. Also, they are slightly forward of center for a single passenger. Normally there are two of us. Also, the motor setup weighs only about 30 - 35 lbs. So its not as much of a weight as it might seem.

how do you balance all of that weight out? the battery box in the center of the canoe is enough? i'd think you'd need that in the very fore of the canoe with the weight of those motors and electronics (and human) in the back...

Nice it's surprising what 2 electric motors can do handling wise over one. Short of a internal combustion motor, thats the best handling I've ever seen in a boat.

It'd be great for navigating in shallow water, where theres a lot of debris.

People will pay good money to have that mounted on their canoe, jon boat, kayak or any other small freshwater vessel with a shallow draft.

If you found a way to market that, it could be the future of waterfowl and fishing boats.

That thing is ten different kinds of cool. It reminds me of azimuth thrusters and azipods on larger vessels like tugs and cruise ships. If you ever make an instructable or draw up some plans I would love to make my own setup like this. Peace.
