  • Just so you know the Gentlemen that bought this off e-bay is a extreme expert on Knuckleheads and was totally impressed by the bike. He stated that the cases were correct for this year and since he paid the big bucks for it I'll take him at his word. If it wasn't all correct then he NEVER would have paid what he did.

  • Pansled you are mistaken. Although lat 1941 models had the long ribs the early and mid range models did not. The numbers on this machine look just fine to me and I conside myself an expert in the field.

  • This bike appears to have been re-numbered. 1941 left cases have reinforcing ribs that run all the way up to the cylinder bases. The left case is 36-40. The ribs were strengthened to handle going from 61 ci to 74 ci. Check some other videos, you'[ll see the difference.

  • Mr. Hawg36 Sorry to have affended you by calling it a flathead as I have a 1937 UL flathead so I do know the difference. To be more correct what I was saying is that "as you can tell by the clips on the paint that it is all original." That means the paint on the bike I wasn't saying that every little part on the bike is original. When we bought this bike years ago the first owner had stored it for 40 years in a crate in his garage so that is why it is in this good of a shape that it is.

  • A Knucklehead is an overhead valve model. It is not a flathead. All in all a very nice looking machine that I would love to own. But do not make that statement that it is all original when you obviously have no knowledge on it. It has had several modifications to it. Common in its day. The automobile horns, handlebar spirals shortened. Later headlamp bracket, missing ride control, nice aftermarket fender tips, Listen to people who actually do know what they are talking about. You may learn.

Also just so you know we do have a box of parts that the original owner had that does have horn in it, a different headlight bracket along with his riding gear and his tool set. The original owner who was in his 80's when be bought the bike stated that it is original from when he was riding it in the 40's. I guess I assumed since he said he bought at the local HD dealer and made the dealer through in the accessories that the accessories were HD ones.

Plus as a younger person (I'm 37) it would be nice if you would try to treat people with some respect maybe you have this exact 1941 Knucklehead but my guess would be not. All I can say is that I get turned off going with my dad to different classic Harley/Indian bike shows when people talk like this. Love the classic bikes and hope that my generation will keep them on the road instead of just in musuems. I hope your day gets better and God Bless!!!!!
