great job..glad to see our sherpa culture being followed even at so faar .from home . we hav our own identity though some similar wid tibtens..HAPPY LOSAR TO YA ALL..
i know the definition on the world Sherpa (and Tibetan but my question is Why does Sherpa Eat, Dress, Sing...talk even the religion in pretty much the same...So does that mean the Sherpa's were originally Tibetans but lost in Transition. by the way i did my research and found out Sherpas migrated from the Kham region in eastern Tibet to Nepal within the last 300–400 years.
Don't forget your origin that's all i have to say.....
Just out of curiosity..it`s not a racial comment i thought Sherpa don`t consider them self as Tibetan but..Music, outfit, even the food are exactly Tibetan so does that mean Sherpa does not have there own culture ?
Sherpas are from Nepal and Tibetans are from Tibet. In other words the word Sherpa is not a nationality it is a ethnic group but the word Tibetan is used for Nationality. Two different things. If you are a bahun in Nepal you are a Nepali and if you were born in US you are an American, but both the bahuns will have a lot of things in common. Does that answer your question?
