Man, that CB was burnt right at the start of the play, LOL. I remember watching this game after work. To bad Marshall lost , Ole Miss had 2 good RBs ( Deuce McAllister and John Avery), it came to the end. The game went back and forth, Ole Miss scored with I think 10 secs left (One of the RBs) I believe there was a hail mary pass at the end in which Moss almost caught. Marshall had 17-7 lead only to lose 33-31.

Moss did catch it, and then he fumbled it. I remember sitting in the rafters thinking he was face masked, but when I got home I watched it on video and saw it was a clean strip. So his last play at MU cost them the game and their first Top 25 ranking. But that would come the next year. And besides, I don't think MU would have kept it that close without him.

Chad Pennington would no doubt be one of the top 3 or so quarterbacks if it was not for his two arm surgeries. If it wasn't for Randy Moss, I don't know if Chad would have been such a high prospect. Thank goodness he did make it because not only is he the most accurate qb of all time, but he is also a great professional on and off the field.

Hotty Toddy buddy keep it rollin in 97 we itched past 34-31 and by the way Stovall1 im pretty sure the cotton bowl is a little more important and in 04 we won 31-28 and just recently, 09, we beat Texas Tech a team that was 11-1 not sayin they were the best i mean they are in the Big 12 but... we beat them 47-34.
