  • eric koston has mad feebles!

  • thanks for that note of sanity, this was about a song rising in the bloody charts I take it most of you are yanks? Do anyof you actually learn anything in your education system like stringing a sentence together without violence and bad language. If id didn't enjoy frasier I'd say you were all mad.

  • SOLE GOOD SHIT UCE DIS SONG IS DOPE

  • I don't know why people are talking about violence, this song has nothing to do with that. It's about an eighteen year old kid who's on the verge of having a hit record. A bullit is a metaphore for a record that is destined for number one (used in the record business, circa 70s), and he's singing about releasing it, hence pulling the trigger. Not eveything's about shooting people. great record anyway.

  • This was a hit in 1973 in the UK. I love the line "...be my A side be B(be)side me...".

  • I dont know what everyon e is going on about... But This is a good one, remindes me of when i herd this as a kid when i lived in Califonia,We just moved out of Compton to a better placean ... well nothing, thanks for finding this an keep up the great work ....

  • Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels brought me here

  • 5 people can't appreciate quality

  • love this song... i rock this everytime a robbery

  • love this song such a soulful melody

  • I'm looking for Pete Wingfiled's album "Breakfast Special", can anyone please help me find it?

  • i have it on cd could rip it and email it to you

  • i only have the vinyl, sorry man. i did code it into my comp for my ipod though.

  • I'm 18 with a pipette,

Got the nozzle down my japs eye, gonna squeeze it.

    Amazing song.

  • I'm eighteen with my pants round my ankles,

got my finger up my.......arse (obviously)

  • ima pull it

  • man i love this song

    im turning 18

and i feel the same way..

i can relate to this song

  • Wow, I dug this song when I was goin' to the University of California at Santa Cruz. Perfect antidote to all that Grateful Dead music.

  • this brings it all back thanks anita

  • yeow this song rules its in the ending scene of lock stock and two smoking barrels !!!!!

  • Gangs? Music Scene?

    its about jerking off.. fools

  • Not like. It's about the charts in the NME apparently. Jump a certain number of places and get a bullet next to your place.

  • thanks for the nut

  • What flag is that ?

  • wow, this song has a catchy toon.

  • Way cool song, nothing to do with gangs, all about breaking into the music scene, big time...ditch the other s.t, geez...

  • nothing to do with the music business at all.....geez. Its about masturbation IF she doesn't...

  • someone actually listened to the song

  • This song actually went to #18 on the pop charts back in 1975.

  • there are too many classic oldie songs out there, that have been misinterpeted by the youth (gangster wanna be homos) that its preally sad.. this is just one example

  • This song was popular before America's youth began to think that murder, violence and "street cred" were somthing to be desired. USA youth has a prison culture worship from the hood all the way to the wiggers in the suburbs who are clueless to what street life REALLY is.

Reality check: As long as ignorance and violence rule the inner cities, they will remain just that. The rich and elite love rascism and hate. They need somebody to keep doing their slave work and fight their wars for profit.

  • It was harmless when it came out. I was in high school in Toronto. We just loved it, and sang it. That's all.

  • Our starting quarterback used to sing it in the huddle after he'd rocket a pass through a receiver's hands. I was unaware of the gang references until I found this site and read the comments.

My point is about the tragedy of gangs and their impact on today's youth. The Oakland Raiders football team can't be happy that their jerseys are gang attire in many cities. If in fact the same is true of this song, whoever takes it as some kind of a battle cry has a box seat waiting for them in Hell.

  • Your point is understood. And you're preaching to the choir here. Thank you.Your coments are bang on.

Over the last few years, gangs and guns are on a horrible increase here in Toronto.

  • Rogerrodd you got it!!

  • L0ck, 5tock & 2 5mok1nG 3aRReL$

  • He's a white guy from England, doing a great job singing soul, a great song - full of fun -- such a shame it's a gang anthem

  • GREAT!! i was 18 when this was in the charts,,,ahhh the good old days of the 70s...ware did they go???

  • I was going on sixteen, Swing your daddy by Jim Gilstrap was about the same time!

  • a real olde my type of song!

  • sorry but 18 with a bullet was petes age at the time and the bullet was his 45 single which shot to no1 in the uk as told by pillipaw

  • It's a shame classic songs like this are associated with gangs, and it's not just 18st that I despise. I hate ALL gangs. They glorify drugs and violence on often innocent people. Nobody can tell me my statements are not true. I work as a Paramedic/Fireman so i've seen all too well what gang violence and it's drug trade does to a community.

  • alway´s master greatings from holland.

  • this tune makes a perfect to the end of one the best films ever.love it. im britsh and bloody proud of it.lol

  • The singer is wooing a girlfriend by comparing himself to a hit song. "18" refers to a song's place on the charts (of record sales). "With a bullet" refers to the speed at which the song is moving up the chart. "Super soul sure shot, national break out" a prediction of how well the song is going to do. "Oldie but a goodie" "high on the charts" "be my A side" are obvious. How'd this turn into a gang anthem?

  • because hes talking about shooting himself...

  • que viva la DIESIOCHO con la bala somoa los primeros y los unicos.

  • I am so emotional right now, thank you Youtube and thank you for posting this song SamoanBlood. I can remember hearing this song when I was about 5 or 6 years old and my mother telling me to eat all of my oatmeal during breakfast or you're not going to the movies tonight.....:)
