Dr Demento totally ripped this song off.

It was written by Doug Drill of Rose and the Arrangement. I know I was in the group in 1975-1977. Gets me P... everytime I hear it.

It was done by Rose and the Arrangement. However, it was played on the Dr. Demento show under an alias. Do you recall what that was? I don't remember.  They also recorded Chula Vista on the San Diego homegrown album sponsored by KGB or KCBQ radio.
