Damian of Molokai is one of VERY few ppl made 'saints' by the Vatican....who actually LIVED what Jesus talked. Becoming one of the poor, living their life, loving them & dying as one of them.

Most of them were just very good at 'talking about God'......if that...! Or talking volumes about "charity', but leaving the dirty work to others, while hobknobbing with the rich.

They were very impressed with the devotion to Fr. Damien there, and brought it back to Indiana. Well, God bless America! American finally has a saint from HAWAII !
