i would consider both skill and style when talking about the "best". yoshiki from x japan, god-like skill + half liberty spike, half long bang style = total win. drummer of Baiser, cute drumming style, cute and flamboyant clothes. Kami from malice mizer, nice skill + nice dressing style. the VK bands nowadays all dress the same (there is exception), so u dont really feel that much joy looking at the drummers compared to the old bands. the true meaning of Visual Kei (visual +audio shock)

Toshihiro "Tossan" Yui from Galneryus is the best J-Rock drummer, followed by Yuki of Versailles... The video's called Top 5 J-rock Drummers. c'mon, oviously Tossan should be in the list. I also give credit to the other drummers, they're aswome too don't get me wrong, but Tossan has much more power and tallent (my opinion) I love visual kei, but I also like musical quality.

This video is made nearly nine months ago, obviously my musical taste will change. By saying "I love visual kei, but I also like musical quality", are you implying that the other drummers are not talented enough musically?

@Raella94 Nice list of drummers. I personally wouldn't change a thing on the list as they're all very talented :o Have you listened to Naoki from Deathgaze? He's my personal favorite because of his performances in songs like Chaos, they're a bit heavier in some songs, but you should give them a listen if you haven't already. :3

@TadakatsuH0nda I have listened to Deathgaze's songs before but either the impression they left me wasn't as strong, or that was after I made this video. I'm sad about Deluhi disbanding. What if we will never see Sujk as a drummer again?! :'(

To be honest, the current J-rock songs I listened to are kind of tired-sounding and recycled so I've lost my faith in J-rock. Vortex by the GazettE was simply horrible.

TSUKASA of D'espairsRay for sure. His techinques are phenomenal.. And no; I am not a big D'espairsRay fan.

Shinya has also very unique and kind of weird style(in a good way) playing drums. I'm saying this eventhought I hate Dir en grey :D Gomen.

@keixlemon When I said 'age gap', I was thinking more of the video quality and the way the PV was shot. The best X Japan and Diru stuff came from the mid 90s to early 2000s. The quality just suck (oh, the horrors) and they'll appear garish next to the younger visual kei artistes for non-fans. It's like...the GazettE in Zetsu compared to the GazettE in Red.

1) Bucchi - ex-Plastic Tree: listen to sabbath, his fills were insane, also had a good variety in styles

2) Kami - Malice Mizer: listen to Bel Air, enough said

3) Nakano - Ling Tosite Sigure: listen to telecastic fake show, he plays the fuck out of those skins, seriously mad fills

4) Yuki - Versailles: any song, great power metal drums

5) Kai - The GazettE: any heavy/punk song, great fills, knows how to put a groove to metal, which is pretty awesome

@Raella94 that is true, mine was overall but I'll add in Nao from Maximum the Hormone for modern stuff: shes a pretty good drummer and does lots of vocals while playing which is pretty awesome. Also, you don't see a lot of girls in j-rock, just a lot of guys that look like girls (lol), so she should get some credit for that too
