  • Such an angelic face she had...

  • According to the news, this NBC News Update is from June 25, 1978.

  • Commies, gay freedom parade, anti-nuke demonstrations, more Commies. NBC hasn't changed a bit!

  • she was a fake...forced fake accent.

  • 1978 was a big year politically for the Carter Administration, as it started to go down hill.

  • 70's...come back! we all miss you!

  • What a talented, attractive (if not threateningly so), and professional communicator. Her private life, however, was a mess, and only a handful of people gave a damn. What a big loss - she was a true TV news pioneer who never really had a chance.

  • She was beautiful, she was intelligent, but the questions remains: was she murdered?

  • @filmerado No, it was simply a car accident.

  • I don't know other american journalists women who can compate the regreted Jessica SAVITCH nowadays. In France we had the equivalent with Christine Ockrent in the 80's as well!

  • Wow, she had a million dollar smile, and the talent to match it ! I miss her. Truly great newscasters are few and far between.

  • She was the Debra Norville of her day ,just lovely.

  • what a stunningly beautiful woman. I remember her when I was a little boy and how popular she was. what a loss.

  • News was actually serious at one time. Amazing!

  • MY GIRL!!!

  • lol...thawsand...card shawks...new yawk

  • She Sounded Good.

  • It breaks my heart seeing that. I wonder if Jessica is well at that moment.

  • Her story was terribly tragic. She worked extremely hard and got very little in return.

  • "Mysterious circumstance" You are a real ***hole. This was a tragic accident, and you dare to make light of it you waste of life?

  • miss you jessica.

  • All your Jessica Savitch news updates are AWESOME!! Thanks!

  • I think its best to remember her just like this and not how she died. :')

  • dang she is hot

  • If she was still alive, i would date her

  • she looks like she aged 25 years during her short time with NBC!

  • ive only just stumbled upon this whole jessica savitch thing, but in the small amount of videos ive seen, i was thinking the exact same thing! her final report is only 6 years after this!

  • I don't know about 25 years, but I agree with your basic point.

  • oooh sexy lady!

  • SHE WAS GORGEOUS.

  • Damn right

  • So beautiful! She was very special!

  • she looks great!

  • Tell you what, I know it;s the late 70s and all, but that shot at time :49...wow. She was a beaut

  • Wow, I loved watcher her on telly.

  • she looks healthy here-not anorexic at all.

  • She really was a true professional. I bet all the women newsreporters today study her methods. She really was a great communicator of the news.

  • Excellent News delivery here.

  • I remember her from when I was a kid. She was so much more Charismatic than the network anchors we have now. It's tragic what happened to her.

  • She was so talented and beautiful it's too bad she never found personal happiness. Linda Ellerbee compared her to the character Laura of the the book & film of the same name during her interview with Bob Costas on the show Later with Bob Costas in the 1990's. If anyone has a clip of the interview please post it. It was a good interview & Linda said she was aced out of a lot of good assignments by Jessica because she wasn't as attractive. She and Bob discussed the J's biography Almost Golden.

  • In 1995, Lifetime aired a movie about her called Almost Golden: The Jessica Savitch Story. Sela Ward played the role of Jessica.

  • Did you know that Luka Magnotta is her oldiest son? Tats so weird cause they look alike. Luka is almost 30 now.

  • She did not have children.

  • @BigVideoFan88 You have to read the book it's based on, by Gwenda Blair...marvelous. And it turns out it was probably put on the air by one of its executives at the time, Judy Girard--who was a college roommate of Savitch's.

  • The announcer here was the veteran "Voice of NBC News," Bill Hanrahan.

  • She definately was not the dumb blond!

  • She was a pioneer as a female anchor in the TV news biz. She used to shop at a store I worked in, and she was very sweet in person. She had a rep for being difficult, but I think she was just a perfectionist, and rightly so.

  • Tough, professional, beautiful & brilliant. That industry had almost zero women when she began. The pressure must have been crushing...so sad. DRUGS FUCKING SUCK!!!

  • WHAT A HUGE TV!!!

  • Actually its a rear screen projection system called Vizmo, was used heavily by NBC in the 60s and 70s, a nice clean look for the time.

  • @eyeontv Much better than a Chroma-key!!!

  • Yeah...Rocketcab...well said...it's how I want to remember her also...U think Couric could study some of these tapes? It may make her just slightly less repulsive. Sure miss Jessica!

  • It's a shame her life was cut short. She was a professional and pretty lady.

  • the way the news should be delivered her timeing is perfect

  • She was really quite charming and attractive wasn't she?

  • It's the way I want to remember her...

  • What an amazing woman.

  • Like a golden ray of light

  • She wasn't too bad before she started drugging herself up.

  • Nice to see Jessica smiling! She had too many reasons not to smile during the last years of her short life.
