She was so talented and beautiful it's too bad she never found personal happiness. Linda Ellerbee compared her to the character Laura of the the book & film of the same name during her interview with Bob Costas on the show Later with Bob Costas in the 1990's. If anyone has a clip of the interview please post it. It was a good interview & Linda said she was aced out of a lot of good assignments by Jessica because she wasn't as attractive. She and Bob discussed the J's biography Almost Golden.

She was a pioneer as a female anchor in the TV news biz. She used to shop at a store I worked in, and she was very sweet in person. She had a rep for being difficult, but I think she was just a perfectionist, and rightly so.
