Bing was a sky walker they just weren't given lanes to the hoop in those days. That is exactly what made Baylor so incredible . Back then the PLAYERS had a no dunking rule. You might get away with it but you were playing with the ire of the men you'd see night after night. So you didn't do it or else. Hard fouls then are Flagrant fouls now
I've got a question for you, I juts really need to know it. Is there a time in Dave Bing's career where he was a Piston and they wore the jersey that shows "Pistons" in cursive letters and no name on the back?
I finally found a photo of David Bing wearing the cursive 'Pistons' and a dependable site says it was there jersey until 1969 before you answered me. So that means you're right.
Man, you are a true Piston fan. Thanks bro! Big help.
I'm actually based out of Toronto, and I've been a Raptors fan since Day One. NBA headlines today include his new role as full time Detroit mayor. So congrats to him!
oh, my bad. I thought you are a Pistons' fan because of this video at facts you know about them. Nonetheless, thanks for the info dude, appreciate it.
Saw him in the twilight of his career with the Celtics;had a certain grace and class that reminded me of Dr.J; you kind of KNEW he was a WINNER,on and off the court.
One of the first dynamic leapers in the modern NBA, with an amazing long stride. Dave Bing's last step on a drive always seemed to cover 4 or 5 feet of real estate before he planted and exploded to the hoop. Could dunk, switch hands in midair on his J, the works.
David Bing was handsome in the day!

During his first three seasons with the team (1966-1969), the Pistons wore the scripted jersey at home.

Hats off to you for being such a diehard Raptors fan. To know that Damon Stoudemire, Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter were Raptors is a special thing.

I was in the fifth grade during Damon's rookie year and wrote an essay saying how he was my hero.

Just a classic, smooth, effortless player. Seemed to glide on the court and in the air. Landed on a cloud when he took jumpers.

On the wall of the old Lindell A.C. bar in Detroit was a great photo of Dave Bing taking it to the hoop with Wilt going for the block.
