Throw in pillow fighting, not paying a tip, being a journalist, etc. All don't seem like a good reason to arrest anyone.

What happened was people at the park complained about loud and profane music being played. There were also reports of the crowd at the show growing to large and becoming rowdy. When police arrived they asked for a permit. The band could not produce on site. Therefore the concert had to be shut down. The reaction of some was to defy lawful orders rather than comply with the law.

I mentioned the twelve year old girl who was arrested for writing her name on her desk in erasable marker, a girl who just forgot her ID and was willing to go get it, and a group of actresses who got in trouble for an innocent photoshoot (possible PR stunt). Throw in pillow fighting, not paying a tip, being a journalist, etc. All don't seem like a good reason to arrest anyone.

My problem with this is that it's said they had the proper permits (although it has been disputed) and charges were dropped. It seems that this maybe a situation were police went overboard.

apparently the police are the ones who decide how many people can congregate and decide if what they are doing together is allowed
i always thought that was a sign of a police state
happily the DA refused to persue the charges so at least the band never ended up in court or with fines etc

it had nothing to do with skating at a skate park. it had to do with failing to provide permits to put on a concert. they failed to produce a permit. which means the show gets shut down.
the DA cut the people arrested a break if they followed certain conditions. the people arrested admitted they should have obeyed the officers' lawful orders

google it. the soccer moms at the adjacent field called the police on a noise complaint. apparently obtaining a permit from the city to play amplifyed music in a bandstand at a park is meaningless if someone complains about you being too loud
so much for 'land of the free' huh
at least the city accepted it was their fault for booking soccer & a punk show at the same time in that park.

What happened was people at the park complained about loud and profane music being played. There were also reports of the crowd at the show growing to large and becoming rowdy. When police arrived they asked for a permit. The band could not produce on site. Therefore the concert had to be shut down. The reaction of some was to defy lawful orders rather than comply with the law.
The city didn't accept anything as their fault as the lying Reggieworth falsely claims

@Reggieworth Thanks. I just Googled it and your explantion is very one-sided. I also read the findings of District Attorney Gerald Benito and the attorney for the seven who were arrested, Dugan Barr. Neither of these folks agree with you or the poster of this video. After a meeting between all involved, the seven realized their behavior was wrong but also had their say. All agreed it could have been handled better, including the church.
