  • Not only does she call you but she posts stupid videos to waste your time too. Took about 10 seconds to realize this video has ZERO value. Longer than I would have listened to the phone call anyway.

  • Hey how much do you get payed as a telemarketer? also if you could answer this also , what company do you work for , I've been looking for a reliable one , still no luck

  • A++++

  • Hi Nicole I hope you still visit this I was a telemarketeer for about ten years then I started working with companies to show them better ways to do it. The company that employes you doesn't care about you or their customers enough to do it well. I liked the pitch you designed as a marketing blurb but the better thing to do is talk to people. If you were to have called people and asked what sort of things they just couldn't live without knowing about. you would have been able to show value

  • You should be more positive. You aren't really bothering someone with a quick phone call. You have a chance to change someones life forever. I am always disappointed with cold calls i get from newspaper-tele-marketers. They are such weak salespeople. One "not interested" and they give up. People dont wait around to buy... but they can still be sold. Be proud of your product and you can sell it to anyone, even republicans. Everyone is a buyer. peace.

  • i was a telemarketer too. every call is a potential sale, never give up at the first "not interested" answer. her situation was worse than mine 'cause i called existing customers. i never made more than 100 calls per day.

  • That bein said. There is a law saying that once contact is made with the customer in relation to one of said promotions, if the customer says "Do not call me again" it is THEN illegal for us to call them again. box ticked or not ;) jus a tip from ur friendly neighbourhood telemarketer... becos we care. lmao

  • With regard to DNC list - i work in call centre myself, there are certain laws that allow companies to call customers they have a current and ongoing relationship with in regard to promotionals etc. So yes, someone may be one the dnc list, but if they haven't ticked the box in .05 font on the bottom of their enrolment paper saying "i wouldnt prefer to not be not contacted for promotions" or somthin equally as confusin... then ya outa luck. sorry.

  • one of the fun parts about being a telemarketer is that you can always just put the people that are mean on the redial list :P

  • lol i did that a few times today

  • but ours is called the call back list

  • want a job telemarketing from home?

    careers at dialingprime dot com

  • hey that was awesome, that's the first video blog I've actually watched all the way through..and I been on here 2 years lol

I've been in sales, I've made cold calls, rough stuff, rude people, but you pass them by, and get to the "yes's"

nice cuts too, you got good editing skills.

you gotta be on site to that? or do you work from home

  • Not all the staff are "students", many are about 25 in age up to their late 40's and telesales is their career and it can be quite a rewarding one as well. It's better than working at Wal-Mart or Burger King, that's for sure!

  • I am a tele-marketer and thankfully the whole industry is not as described here. I work at one of the fastest growing telemarketing firms in the US & our QA Managers are nice people, they actually help us alot. Of course we get a lot of nasty people on the phone, but it's not a band place to work.

  • Good speech! You are so right! I know people in telemarketing and they are telling the same stuff like you. But,,they all are students to make for living and many of them like ith because they make so much money. And, it is not a shit job, you just sit down and computer calls for you.

  • Are you 100% sure about what you say regarding the DNC?

Is it true that Call Centers are allowed to call people registered in DNC as long as they don't reply asking for a removal from the list? I NEVER HEARD ABOUT IT.

  • very nice flick.

i actually avoid telemarketing jobs like fire, i'd probably do it if either my parents died and i needed to support my siblings. but as long as i can exchange my sanity with my own physical and financial discomfort, ill turn those fucking jobs down.

try and become an independent somehow :/

"they get your dreams for free."

  • haha.

telemarketing, as annoying as it is, can be really fun to mess with sometimes.

...sorry if i ever do it to you haha.

  • I would have to be nice to you I guess. I think it would pretty much make me the worst person in the world for ME to be mean to other telemarketers. Haha. Thanks.

  • That's too funny. So hurtfully true.

  • Oh no, have I truly been graced with a comment from X herself? *bows* Why thank you.

  • Alright! Lots to look forward to.. =P

  • Ha. Yeah. You're going to love it. You know why!!? Because I will be there! *conceited grin* :-) One more day til you start the life of a hated individual! lol.

  • omg that pitch in the beginning brung back memories, i worked at a "research" lab here in Fl. for 3 years and let's just say I had to talk real well over the phone. Good job Nik, glad I've inspired someone to make a video. Kinda makes ya feel all good inside lol. be E Z

  • Ha. Thanks. And thanks for the inspiration. :-P

  • o god, no avence, but u people are evil lol

  • It's okay, I know we're evil. Haha.

  • no really your not a loud to call people on the no calling list. if you do then we have to get your name and # and you can get in a lot of trouble doing that. thats what my dad tells me. i know nothing on it. even my brother does. like one time he called us. and he says i have to do so listen and he was being funny with. i heard though they they can fire you but if you come back in a week or so you can get the job back couse they need workers.

  • There's a loophole in the system. If you knew about it, you could bypass it. They don't want you to know NOW do they? :-)

Yeah, these places drop you and pick you back up pretty fast.

  • well, then how come no one has called us in like 3 years since we been on it?

  • I don't know. I don't necessarily know everything. I just know what my job tells me, which is probably whatever benefits them the best. Ha.

  • i see. so, how long have you worked there? and are you just working there during college to have money or what? just wonding. take care.

  • Nah, it's cool. I like that you ask so many questions. I have worked there about seven months now. I'm just doing this while I get a degree. I will probably look for a similar job when I move and finish up school. Then I will focus on something in film.

  • that sounds cool. keep up the good work i love getting to know people not just watch there videos.

  • so why bother doing that job? my older brother did that job and after a week we hated it. cause he was so bored. and he was being funny with it to past the time. we are on no calling list. so u can't call us. lol

  • There are perks.

  • Do you actually enjoy your job?

  • Somewhat, mainly because the pay isn't half bad.

  • How much?

  • Well the hourly pay is only 8.25, but the commission is pretty awesome and easily attainable.

  • See how crafty you are? You still haven't told me. What's the average commission worked out hourly?

  • Hmm, let me think. Math was never a strong point. I work twenty hours a week and bring home about $600 biweekly so... *does math in head as quickly as possible for slow brain* I make about thirty dollars an hour. Not bad for 20 hrs a week. Sorry, wasn't trying to be crafty, just responded to your last comment rather quickly. :-p

  • 600 biweekly? You mean every other week? Or twice a week? So I'll assume it's every two weeks for now. That's 40 hours for 600 dollars. That's 15 dollars an hour. Before taxes? Not as good as 30 but it certainly is better than it could be. Especially for a job that requires no degree.

  • Yeah, every other week. Told you I couldn't do math. Good thing that's not my major. Yeah, it's not bad. All I know is it is paying the bills until someone finds the college education I have to be enough for a slightly more qualified job or until I have a degree that can get me a good job.

  • Well it really is a decent income. I understand why you'd take it. Math isn't my strong point either. I had to use pen and paper for that. I used to do market research. People don't tend to mind that so much. They do mind, but not quite so much. Sometimes they seem to like the idea of contributing their information. Which really if they didn't it would be a different industry. That information is worth money.

  • Market research, that's new. Or I mean...that's the first time I have heard someone tell me it was something they do. :-) I have really enjoyed talking to you. I think I will head over and check out some of your videos. Later.

  • Oh man, why don't you have any videos?!

  • Lol. No videos. Nope. I did market research for a while yes (notice the past tense). It's one of those entry level jobs that doesn't pay absolute shit. However there isn't usually a commission. It's similar to what your doing though. As for having videos, I figure I expose myself via the livejournal quite enough. :)

  • Ha, well I guess I will accept that. If you ever feel like exposing yourself a little more, though. Ha.

  • :)
