You guys totally know what you are doing with drums. That tiny mistake with the whole not tuning one of the rods does not inspire any doubt about your ability to make the best sounding drums in the entire world.
@zachthemusefan Because Don Sleishman patented the rights to this system in the 70's. You'll notice the Pearl "free floating" snares are not quite free floating as compared to Sleishman Drums.
It's a pity that David doesn't tell us which model Sleishman kit this is - Custom or Omega. Sounds great but so it should if it is the custom kit. Come on be honest about which kit this is. I am looking at buying an Omeha Fusion but need honesty about quality of sound and build. If this is a custom kit it should sound great for about $7000 or more.
I am about 99% sure I am going to buy a sleishman omega kit... being that the top an bottom heads have even tension... would a head combo like single ply over single ply be even more resonant? just curious if you would ever consider a demo of this and maybe doing a demo on just the bass drum since it is such a huge part of the kit and I don't see any demo's here on youtube. great product though!
@PhaetonFireFox03 Once again, Don Sleishman patented this system in the 70's. That's why other companies cant use it, the closest is RIMS mounts and the like.
@beeftothetaco123 I've noticed that "Guys like you" that are ALWAYS looking for a way to run others down, not only have a self esteem problem, but you probably could play a gig if your life depended on it.The Man wrote in his description that the mic was inhibiting him from getting to the last lug.GET A LIFE!!!
@Eiderwine Hi Eiderwine, not at all - this is the new midrange pricepoint kit from Sleishman. The OMEGA series - made for drummers who want a pro kit at a mid price. I use one and they're as good as my custom kit. Cheers, Jack
@MrHatSpeaks Watch the other videos on sleaishman drums to see how they work, you'll see that the ring near the bottom of the drum distributes the tesnion evenly.
@MrHatSpeaks How are you being "made" to watch anything? It's youtube, dont like it, dont watch it. He is simply demonstrating the swet spot across the entire tuning range.
That is truly amazing, I have just spent all day today tuning my Mapex-Mars Pro with Evans G2's and while I was reasonably happy with the end result I had to try many different combinations of tension, damping etc to get there, BUT this is absolutely amazing! hard to believe it is possible to get such a beautiful range of tone out of a 10" tom AND just using 5 tension rods!! Absolutely stunning, I want one & I'm gonna get one, saving my pennies now. Typical Oz ingenuity! You Little Beauty!!
@nigelregan Hi Nigelregan - glad you like the drums, yes they are incredible, particularly on a gig or in the studio when you need to pull a sound or pitch quickly, you simply go up or down without the ringing or flapping you get from other drums. I would suggest the Omega series, great drums at a great price.
nice sounding kit. but doesnt matter what kind of kit BECAUSE ALL DRUM KITS TODAY HAVE REALLY SMALL TOMS AND THERES JUST NO NICE NATURAL AMBIENCE FROM THEM. frustrates me. maybe just my taste? idk....
Page Drums utilizes the same idea but with cables outside of the shell and no screws drilled into the shells.Check out Jovol Bell talk about this drums.
waaaaait a minute....so the bottom head gets tuned from the lug on the top head...meaning even rod tension on both sides at all times?...meaning no more drum dial related headaches?....im buying this.
This guy is an idiot. At least when it comes to tuning. Hitting the center of the drum, randomly torquing the lugs, and COMPLETELY missing one of the lugs...
Wow, I am truly amazed, not only do the duel tension rods actualy work really well but to get so much bottom end and tone out of a 12" drum, where the head is barely on, is unbelievable. Bravo.
@mikeweaver82 It's a 10" not a 12" - even more amazing still, is the fact that in this entire demonstration he's only tuning 5 of the 6 tuning rods (the 6ths is underneath the mic clamp). Any normal drum would simply not respond if you neglected a tension rod the entire way up or down like that.
@RockyhouseMedia - and I thought that these drums had impressed me enough... so thats a 10" an he isn't even keeping an even tension around the drum? and they still sound that good? Wow, please keep me informed as to when these drums become readily available within the UK without the cost of importing, I think it's time to sell my Tama.
@jblcva Hey there, glad you like the Sleishman system! Just to clarify you dont have to order Sleishman drums from Australia, there are now distributorships in the USA and UK (and I think Europe also) - where abouts are you?
@verveshawn there's no turning back my friend! i first played them when I endorsed another brand and just new i had to switch! the thing is until now they've only been available in Aus, but slowly ppl are hearing them over seas and understanding what the rave is about. glad you liked them.
@Jesse4ManBob I thought the same thing. If you read the tuning tips on the Sleishman site they say to achieve a pitch bend effect to detune one lug. He doesn't touch that one lug to achieve the pitch bend.
wow that sounds awesome, i cant get that sound with my drum dial
