@iNandYR I just used a Art Pre Amp and a condenser mic plugged into a mixer and then into the Line in on my Audio card when I started but now I use a M-Audio set up.

When I try to load Asio on my laptop, I get Windows warnings that proceeding may harm my computer. Should I bypass these warnings? Many thanks.

@TheJudplay Im guessing the website is not registered with Microsoft. You have to get the driver to use the program. It's up to you. Ive never had a problem with there website.

when i go to mix and add reverb.. i start to get a crack, sort of cutting noice. but only when i start to add effects. i use an audiobox usb interface if that tells ya anything.. can ya help me out?

I've got the same problem here

I can record perfectly, and the signal is always received.

But when I rewind and click play, there is no sound. The "sound bars" keep going up and down as if there was something playing, but I cannot hear anything

@chapplin1306 i found out what i was missing...if you have an external sound card you need,in order to hear the sound,to put an amp or headphones or speakers in the sound card's output.the pc recognizes the sound card/guitar pedal(in my situation) as an extra sound card and it uses it to output sound ignoring the internal one.i solved this problem by plugging my amp on the pedal/sound card and i listen to the sound through the amp.if i didnt help ask me for more info :) thanks!

@PETHAMENOSNEKROS its probably how you have your ASIO set up on vista you can find this in your startup menu by typing it in not sure if thats just added with certain soundcards though- however if u do have this u need to set it up so you have audio output for your soundcard, cubase doesn't run from windows sound if set up correctly thats the difference between professional softwares and other types such as fruity loops or music director. i'm not certain this is what it is but it worked for me.

okay. so ive gone from using audacity to using cubase LE4, i have a bheringer mixer, and ii plug the RCA cables into the mixer, then i put it into the "mic" jack of my computer, it worked fine with audacity, but cubase wont record anything from my mixer, why? ive gone to device setup and everything, and it wont say anything about my mixer in it.. Cubase is an advanced music software please i advice you to buy simple audio card, it will help you to record or do any thing you wonna do with it , may be you can buy tascam us122l/144l instal it , its just plug and play, with usb you can just plug and play, do the preferences settings, it is easy to use and you can record good sound with it , thanks

Some times you get hiss from recording sitting to close to your computer monitor. You may also try another cord.

Its a setting in your ASIO setup screen be sure your inputs and out puts are the same.

You might try to copy your tracks on to another and set the copy to pan left and set the original track to pan right.  Im just guessing but it may work. Good luck.

Ok DoubleO, Smokin & Joke-in aside I do have a question. I have a I-Mac 2GHz Dou Core 2 with 2GB DDR2 SDRAM. Running Cubase LE4 with my Yamaha Keyboard hooked up as a drum machine and my Bass plugged into the instrument jack on my Lexicon Alpha. I get the drums going then add a track so I can record. The drums and bass both sound pretty good but when I go to play it back it is bass only, no drums. How do I get it to record the drums at the same time??

It looks like I only have 1 track, Audio 01_01 but in the area to the right it has 2 wave forms, upper is bass and lower is the drums. I don't know how to get a track set up for the drum machine, its not a file I can go get, Its coming in the 1/4" line in 1 & 2 in the back of the alpha hardware from the keyboard . I'm not sure I'm using the VST how do I tell??

Ive always record the drums first on one track of drums and the next instrument on another track. You should try this and see if it helps.

you have a ground problem with your bass or you have a cheap cord thats why its buzzing unless your real close to a tv why you a recording that could also make a buzz.

You can try to use the EQ but I would just get a better cord or fix the ground problem with your bass.

I had the same problem when I only had 256k of ram. I added another 256k and the problem went away. How much ram do you have?

yes there can be two slots but you can get ram in128K sticks and two would only be 256K which is not enough.

Look on Ebay and find a ART Tube warmer Preamp and it will make everything work and realy gives your recordings a lot of tone. You can get one for under 50 bucks and it has Phantom Power.

Yes. It is a MXL 990 (true phantom powered condenser microphone with 6 micron gold sputtered diaphragm, high quality FET preamp and a balanced output. and we run it thru a Lexicon Alpha Box...I just cant figure how to set the levels to make the mic respond...when we clap into the mic it dont rspond, but when i clap toward laptop, mic on laptop responds, but we want the mic to respond so what do think is the problem? is it something deeper than microphone not responding or what? I looked up your lexicon alpha box and it does not support a phantom powered mic and you MXL 990 will not work without it. Try to plug a Dynamic mic in and see if it works if it does that may be your problem.

you can also look at your control panel and deselect your onboard mic. The rest of the adjustment for selecting an input will be done in Cubase under the audio menu.

Above the track you are recording there are to little arrows one showing where to start and one showing where to stop spread them apart. If that does not do it make sure the track you are on does not have a highlighted area where this is happening. If so just click on another track and it will go away.

You have to have a program to convert them or burn th to a disk and load them in to your media player as a mp3
