  • watching this playthrough this version (which i understand is a straight port of the NES version) is different yet similar to battlemaniacs on the snes, I thought they were totally different (the snes one being a sequal) but it seems to share some of its levels with the original. The turbo tunnel and this snake level are exactly the same as in this one for example.

    wtf going on? :S

  • it's like a 10 year old designed the snake pit levels, not to mention the collision detection is terrible. i liked this game a lot more when i couldn't make it past the speeder bike level.

  • @LoneSageR actually that might just be you, collision detection is fine and if a ten year old designed this then it must be the most evil ten year old ever.

Its not unusual, this game was intentially designed to be ball busting hard.

  • .... That snake one and the final stage pissed me off so much LOL

  • I have to say that this is a TOUGH game! However, it's also pretty fun to play. I first played this in the early '90s (never got past Level 3), and now thanks to the Gamefabrique site, II have Bthe Genesis version of Battletoads on my vomputer. I've ALMOST beat the Snake Pit level.

  • level six is a nightmare!

  • heh already maxed out the score, shows how far rare expected you to get.

  • 0:23 u see ?? papa roach - last resort music....soo same melody

  • @seth8556

also sounds like a song from donkey kong country 3 which also sounds like papa roach

  • Karnath's Lair is one of my favorite levels. The BGM for it sounds much better in the NES version though, IMO.

The speed in Surf City also appears to be a lot slower in the GEN version, making the mines much easier to avoid compared to the NES version. The 1UP is easier to hit in this as well.

  • 999990 point's O_O

  • Thanks the crows of the 2nd level.

  • 1:15 lol just looks funny

  • He sure likes humping those snakes

  • that surf city tune is really badass. i also love those funny small space invaders that try to steal your health. great game...if it only would be a little bit easier. i did finish it on my mega drive, but i would play it a lot more often if i could play through it without the trial and error in the first tries after not playing it for a while.

  • 5:10 omg

  • That sumo rat was the easiest boss from anything.

  • Try as I might, I could never ever beat the snake level.

  • I went though the whole Game for the genisis not too long ago, and this level was the most fun and had the best music.

  • if you are a true battletoads fan please sign the petition to make a new BT game, it's the first result on google :)

  • Aight, If it'll help

  • hey thanks a lot bro, it needs all the support it can get, spread the word!!!!!

  • We all could wish, but it's impossible. The group in Rare who made this game was and is long gone...

+ If it were to come out, it wouldn't be so good. You can't beat the classics no matter how hard you try.

(Example : Sonic vs any 3-D sonic game...)

  • Battletoads: Quality worm-humpin'

  • The surfing level's music was the best track in the NES version, and it sounds damn awesome in this Genesis version as well.

  • the snake lvl has the best music as far as i no

  • The surfing level was another favorite level.

I love the song! I even use it as a ringtone for my phone!
