i like how this solo actually has groove instead of being incredibly difficult like tim jacksons solos. and the theme is there throughout the entire solo
ahhh. It's great to see how much God loves people sometimes lol. Matt is legally blind and has cerebal paulsy. Does it matter? HECK NO! CAUSE HE'S A BEAST! lol.
Christian, I'm sorry but I can top that. Matt taught me to play tenors. As for his sight, no, the blind doesn't make much of a difference for him, not because of his vision, but because after playing with him for 4 years, I know that he can honestly feel the music of a tenor drum better than anyone I've ever seen.
being blind folded requires an acute awareness of your surroundings to perform that solo. For some people, it's hard for them to even look away from their set; most of the time they lose their reference point and lose their playing area. Very well done!
Pay close attention. I think he might've hit about 2 or 3 rims total through the whole solo. A couple times he incorporated the Dynasty hardware right into his solo.
He was cleaner with the blindfold.

I marched with this dude my freshman year at Purdue. Best tenor player I'll probably ever meet. I'm so glad to hear he won I&E!

No way. The only way I'd agree with that is if he pulled something off on three tenors like Tim Jackson.
CWsnare 3 years ago
I honestly think he's better than tim jackson in his prime.

No rim/perfect technique. The new "Tim Jackson"?

plus, sight isnt needed to play tenors.
when ur at this level, or high school for more than 2 years for that matter, ur body knows where the drums are.

fantastic solo. very entertaining.

if he is the tenor from RX (which it looks like) then yes. It'd make sense for him to be in BD (TJ). Extremely talented player.

One of the first beautifully written and executed Quad Solos Ive seen in a WHILE. Had a great theme throughout.
