The building began as KSTM-TV, channel 36, a doomed effort in what was an expensive building with a luxurious labby with a vision of the Battleship Missouri emblazoned on the floor. I was there the week the building opened and those of us accustomed to the tiny studios at KSD-TV at 12th and Olive and the modest WTVI building on Signal Hill were amazed at the size of the facility.
