The most boring and workless update on DDO. They did no actuall job, but taking old patterns and paint them into pirates. They have numbers of buggs unfixed, tonns of things need to be polished, and yet they preferr an update that has nothing new in it. I mean they have Monster Manuals to find new monster to encounter, if not enough fantasy to think for themselves. Cmon! Swinging eny weapon on ANY race lookes exacly the same.
@KingPhazon Of the many F2P / P2P business models, I think DDO has the best mix. Most P2P have a forced monthly fee no matter how little or much you play then charge an additional fee for expansions. Others like Aeria tend to charge more for buffets / cosmetics but seem to have a very unpolished "it's free so don't complain" look / feel. You can have a non-gimped lvl capped Toon for free or pay monthly or pay / earn what you want. Best of all worlds!
@KingPhazon Yeah, I don't understand why they aren't free either! Why do companies need to make money?! Why don't they just make new content for us ungrateful people out of the kindness of their hearts!?
@KingPhazon, you don't have to pay for any quests if you are willing to grind for favor. And either way, paying (either through money or time) for permanent access to content beats the hell out of subscription based MMOs. After all, Turbine has to make money somehow.
I've always wanted the experience of p2p, but my policy with videogames is that you pay up-front for it once, and that's it.
The fact that Turbine is the first high quality developer to get that solidifies my loyalty to them. And wow, is this one hell of a gameplay experience.
So much content.
So many character class combinations.
So little time.
And yet, so much fun. Worth the upfront payments indeed. 8)

they could have made this pack a bit more complex and with new mobs...
though the game is fun overall.... still find lacking in the animations of the melee attacks.
