Wheel and spin are almost the same words when you write in portuguese. As someone said, 'roda' (wheel) is a verb and 'rodar' (spin) is a substantive named after the verb. The phrase means something like if you fall in the wheel (life and it's turnings) you have two options: wake up and face your life or being left behind (spin in the wheel of life).
