@jackchang69 It was a smaller bull so we pass it up. We waited for the bigger bull to show up and was successful as you saw in the video. Hunting is not always about taking the first bull. We like to challenge ourself and go after record bulls so we can mount and hang it on our walls.
Awsome video! I am the only Hmong bow hunter that i know of. Everybody i know have put too much money into guns so it's hard to convert them over to a bow. Nothing beats shooting a animal at such close range. I love it!
@hmongoutdoors I hunt here in Northern Cal. I have a lot of opportunity hunting with my bow. People are more likely to say yes to a bow hunter than they are to a rifle hunter hunting their property.
Depending on how many days you are hunting, we can accomodate to see what works best. Also, it all depends on the size of the rack that you are looking for. To hunt in Montana, being in good condition is always helpful so that one can hunt all day going up/down the mountain.
We usually take everything back including the guts, intestines, liver, lungs, and the meats. The antlers is the reason why we pass up small ones and wait for the bigger ones. Sometimes we would do a few trips to be sure nothing is wasted.
Way better than deer, beef, or pork. I eat elk all year round. I make sausages, steaks, ribs, stir fry, etc. Tastes better if eaten right after the kill.
The elk was 5 yards away as it past by. My brother past up the bull and waited for a larger one. He eventually did get the larger bull the following week.
I know what you mean, Cali has a larger population of hunters and more pressure which put your chances very low. We are experiencing it slowly here too. More people are moving in and are wanting to hunt more than ever.
What happen in the beginning, you guys didn't shoot when it's close to the camera?
