Chun-Li is the strongest and toughest woman in the world. She is so cute, disciplined and sexy. She is the BEST chinese fighter. Also, she is the most aggressive fighter than any other female fighter in the videogame.
I love Chun li's speed and tricky range. The range on the standing HK is ridiculous (just look at 1:55). Can you imagine the type of beast Chun li would be without the charged supers? It's also incredibly difficult to link the entire super/ultra sequence with a hard landing focus attack, unless you've got the enemy in the corner. Even then, the entire chain isn't likely to hit.
not really. They change her fighting style a bit, by making her a charge back fighter like Gulie, which kinda sucks, but i guess it was apart of making the game balanced.

A shame that the kid playing Ryu didn't know how to use his specials. Had Ryu been using his special moves, Chun-Li would have been out of the picture.

3rd Strike is solid, but I have a problem with how 3 characters can dominate the entire cast. I like Double Impact better just for the fact Sean was playable.
Alpha 3 save the fact it had basically EVERY character is an inferior game compared to Alpha 2. The juggle system, simplified safe fall/alpha counter just made things too easy. the ISM system tried gave special moves to some and took from others. Vism just did not belong in SF period.
CVS 2: Groove system. good on paper bad excecution.
SF3 had the best game play no doubt, as far as seperating the Champs from the Chumps. The parry system is one of those amazing things in games that made ppl play their game w/o spamming hadokens and jump Hk into crouch Hk. That said: Sf3 had the worst set of characters in fighting game history!! If Sf3 had kept at least half the characters that made the franchise so popular 1st, Sf3 would've be best ever!I feel like the best SF is the original Super Street Fighter 2. No air block & super moves
if you got 360 then you should get it for that because 360's default d-pad is better than ps3's. you'll be able to pull out moves easier. assuming you didnt get the limited edition fight pad or fight sticks.

Why is it so hard for me to do Chun Li's supermove. I know the way to do it, however, when I apply it, it never works. Anyone with ideas? I have the same issue with Blanka and E.Honda.
Chun-Li looks like she has elephantaisis--those thighs are disgustingly disproportionate to her thin arms, tiny feet and ankles, and small upper torso. Whoever desgined her needs to go back to art school.

Yeah miss out on such a great game just because of some character's art doesn't fit your likings, what a great idea. Either way, the size of her legs makes sense storywise, she has the fastest legs in the world so how would making them look average go with that?

I not worried about missing out on anything, as there is nothing to miss out on. I'm an artist so art direction is one of the first thing I look at and critique in games and film.
Storylines are irrelevant in fighing games--they are always some pathetic reiteration of the same weak plotline featuring one-dimentional character development.
Everyone's standards are different, just because you don't like a game doesn't mean it won't be great. for some people, it will be, for others, such as yourself, it won't. Also, I would like to say I think they did a fantastic job on Art Direction personally on this game.

I know about individual difference, and I would never belittle another person's opinion, I just disagree. Chun li was the first character i picked and became my fav. Can't wait for this game to come out and play online. I got the best chun li, in the top 20 online for stf 3rd strike.
I can't wait to play this online. It GREATLY puts your skills into perspective when you're the shit compared to your local friends/competition, but that first ass whoopin from 00xthunderjohn from like 4 or 5 states away makes you go WTF!?!?! but also puts a smile on your face because you now finally have some competition.

The only way they could make this not look like a game is if they could get rid of the choppiness (look at chun-li in the beginning). Stop focusing on graphics and focus on fluidity.
Id be inclined to agree with truenoriffic, it seems less fluid then sf3, almost like it stalls more between moves, maybe its just appearance due to the difference between animating single imgaes and 3d models, still looks good tho
In Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Chun-Li is the best character in the game. She is the most top tier and the most cheap due to her strength, speed, range, and deadly Supers that can be linked easily.
Those stances just indicate the different strengths. Light punch Kikouken, medium punch, fierce punch. Her Ultra is definitely meant to be comboed into because my god, it can be blocked so easily. From personal experience, and from watching vids, this is not a move you can not do out of the blue. I can't stress enough how many times I really believed I had a wide opening in my opponents defense, only to have my Ultra blocked and get punished badly.
I think Capcom does tone Chun-Li down quite significantly in this version. Her Super Move is ended with her kicking the opponent to the other side of the screen far away from her instead of a high kick to be comboed afterwards.
Well, I don`t think it will be easy to include her Ultra Move in a combo either. Now we get that 2-second-backward-charging input instead of "(d,f)x2".
Chun is still good and plays like a hybrid Super Turbo/ Third Strike character, but her meter is best used to for EX moves. When she does the regular one hand kikouken it's weak punch or medium, and double hand is fierce punch. Her Ultra can be comboed into, but it has to be in the corner to connect.
lol well, to be specific, her really damaging combos that juggle can be followed up with her Super/Ultra, but those are definitely without a doubt corner only. Connecting ground combos into Super is easy, but Ultra start up is much slower so it'd probably be a bit harder. And yeah, it's just different kikouken speed.
I actually got to play as her today. She pretty much is a balance between her ST and 3S counterparts. So if you can play Chun well in either game (or both) you can pick her up pretty quick in 4.
I want to like the new version. I really do. I guess I'm just a sucker for the old bad quality graphics for the nostalgia of it. I'll probably play it, but I get the feeling I'm gonna end up sticking with SF2 haha.

Anyone know Chun li's move list yet by chance?
So far what I can tell, she's using that one move she used in aplha, and she's using the other move she got in SF3.
Her kikokens also function like they did in SF3
So I think ists safe to say that SF4 chun is a combination of Aplha and SF3

Id be inclined to agree with truenoriffic, it seems less fluid then sf3, almost like it stalls more between moves, maybe its just appearance due to the difference between animating single imgaes and 3d models, still looks good tho

I think it stalls between moves to kind of bring back the street fighter 2 feel. I think Capcom's trying to go back to the more popular sf2 formula.

In Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Chun-Li is the best character in the game. She is the most top tier and the most cheap due to her strength, speed, range, and deadly Supers that can be linked easily.

Did anyone notice that she has two or maybe three different Kikouken stance animations in this game?
Can anyone explain what the difference is and does it affect the Kikouken? I haven't got the chance to play it. Too bad.

Those stances just indicate the different strengths. Light punch Kikouken, medium punch, fierce punch. Her Ultra is definitely meant to be comboed into because my god, it can be blocked so easily. From personal experience, and from watching vids, this is not a move you can not do out of the blue. I can't stress enough how many times I really believed I had a wide opening in my opponents defense, only to have my Ultra blocked and get punished badly.

Which one indicates light punch one & the rest?
I think Capcom does tone Chun-Li down quite significantly in this version. Her Super Move is ended with her kicking the opponent to the other side of the screen far away from her instead of a high kick to be comboed afterwards.
Well, I don`t think it will be easy to include her Ultra Move in a combo either. Now we get that 2-second-backward-charging input instead of "(d,f)x2".
This will be a problem.

Chun is still good and plays like a hybrid Super Turbo/ Third Strike character, but her meter is best used to for EX moves. When she does the regular one hand kikouken it's weak punch or medium, and double hand is fierce punch. Her Ultra can be comboed into, but it has to be in the corner to connect.

Different stance for different Kikouken speed, no more fireball speed guessing for opponent lol.

lol well, to be specific, her really damaging combos that juggle can be followed up with her Super/Ultra, but those are definitely without a doubt corner only. Connecting ground combos into Super is easy, but Ultra start up is much slower so it'd probably be a bit harder. And yeah, it's just different kikouken speed.

I actually got to play as her today. She pretty much is a balance between her ST and 3S counterparts. So if you can play Chun well in either game (or both) you can pick her up pretty quick in 4.

I want to like the new version. I really do. I guess I'm just a sucker for the old bad quality graphics for the nostalgia of it. I'll probably play it, but I get the feeling I'm gonna end up sticking with SF2 haha.

That happens when her Housenka (Ultra Move) doesn't manage to hit the opponent. But I read that she does have that move in SFIV for combo purpose.
