The sound of the explosion at 06:40 is a false one. I'm a french private pilot, i've seen this A320 crash video many times, no explosion sound on the original... And for the blind boeing fanatics : Accidents involving scheduled passenger operations: 1945 through 2008: Boeing: 21.9% Airbus: 4.3% Last 5 years, aircraft with 75 seats or more: Boeing 45.2% Airbus 25.0% McDonnell-Douglas 16.1% Tupolev 4.8% Fokker 4.8% Source: Aircraft insurance industry database, last updated 1/4/09 Cheers
@rolotomazzi1 Hi, you sound like you know what you're talking about; however, wouldn't we have to take into consideratn the fact that Boeing has a longer history that has manufacturd much > aircraft, which wd naturally increase the probability that Boeing planes wd be involved w/incidents more than Airbus & that that doesn't necessarily comment on Boeing's intrinsic safety or lack thereof?
If we used yr logic, Tupolev is a safer company than Boeing.
come on as if airbus aircrafts are not safe! kind of a commercial from a american tv station for american products. and the airbus company if they only mention 2 countrys out of many would be german and french not british since they have much less workers there. still 777: great aircraft!!
Wow! I can't wait to listen to the rest. I love flying, and I can't think of a better way to enjoy a wonderful trip than one of the 777. At least it's a dream for now. I'd love just to hear those engines inside and outside the aircraft.
haha misinformation continued - a320 crash - "computer locked up his controls" - nope, actually the computer saved everybody's life by initiating stall-avoidance maneuvers and landing "softly" on the trees instead of stalling and cartwheeling.
@ns81 in case you mean the crash in 1988 you are right that the computer interacted as it should. But I think the plane had enough speed to clear the forest
everyone needs to shut the fuck up about shit you have no idea about...a bunch of flight simulator geeks arguing about boeing vs airbus because they can "control" one or the other better on the computer...I'm a pilot and flight simulator is good for 2 things...fun and casual to somewhat serious ifr practice...that's all
@ruiutomy1 Not to mention the fact that the computer did not "lock up his controls" - the computer was stopping the aircraft from stalling because he had pulled the thrust back too much, and in order to do so disconnected thrust from the computer completely. All this because AF provided him with bad briefing materials that led to him messing up the approach.
This is why Boeing rules! Despite the fact the 777 has the same technology as Airbus, Boeing is still traditional-pilot center, and always the pilot is in control and not the computer in certain circumstance! I have nothing against fly-by-wire in general, I just like Boeing's one and not Airbuses! Boeing's one can be overridden. Airbus can't!
@DeltaEagle7700 If the A320 did as the pilot commanded it would have stalled before the trees and there would have been considerably more casualties. As it was the whole thing was a massive cock-up on the part of Air France.
@thedayitriedtodie Really. And what real hands on experience do you have then. Are you a pilot or a wannabe flight simmer that sits at home alone. You have no idea what you are talking about. Explain why flight 447, an A330 from Air France crashed when the auto throttle disconnected and many other systems which confused the pilots so much they forgot to put the thrust levers up and stalled. Airbus has turned real hands on flying into a computer joke. Boeing all the way for me.
@averredude101 ok you are brain dead arent you. Did you see what i responded about? let me reiterate "shit inefficient plane" explain hows its shit and inefficient. if its so shit have over 900 been built?
@averredude101 what are you talking about, the 773 and 772 are the most efficient long haul plane in existant, thats why its out performing and out selling a330 and a340, basically every plane exept the b737 and a320, the a340 was the king of the hill till the 777 released, then all the a340 orderes went down the toilet. that is fact.

most sophisticated until the 787 starts service. I have to wonder what's Boeing working on to replace that?!

the A320 is air france's cock up. If the FBW did not work, the plane would've stall and slam into the ground, the pilot did not respond fast enough.

Wow misinformation abounding - "it flies itself", "it has 3 million parts, ALL of which must be in perfect working order"

Airbus is so much better. Airbus planes won't fly into buildings because the computer simply won't allow u to.
If u try to let's say sitch the engines off to drop from the sky, the computer will put them back on.
