i don't know which camera to get? I'm a teenager 16 and I'm going on vacation to Dominican republic i like to take pictures and i like them to be clear which camera do i get? Please help!!!! =D DSC-HX7V/R DSC-WX10/B
all i didn't like about that tutorial was the woman, why would you waste so much time on slutty pictutres people can masturbate to? a fucking pair of boobs will do -___- i was hoping you would do an artistic shoot with deep meaning
cool shots, I just rented a studio and they had that strip there and the black background, this is something I am going get into, thats for the inspiration and info, I am kind of a newbie at this
@explusion92 I hope that works out for you man:) I just started it as a side business as well and I have a deviantart page if you're interested to look at my work and we could share experience:) inbox me if interested and put "photography" as the subject:) I'll send you my link. I can't post it in a comment:P
@Tina99ers the lens is a canon 24-105 f4. is.the elinchrom 1000 w\s strobe is connected to the back of the strip and the strip is connected to the c-stand.
This realy taught me somthing about lighting. I like the effect. One thing about this guys method though. I notice he has a curvy model but seems to lose a lot of that in the shadow. Seems like she had bad angles for the shots realy losing some of the female accents I would normaly see. I assume this was for a basic tutorial and not usable pictures.
Not only is Mitch the Moon Bat 14--but he has become an obsessive Moon Bat who needs to stalk me! Moon Bat 14 forever. Now, Moon Bat 14, if you would look at the lovely Renee, you would have to admit that all I said about her is true--unless you don't like women.
I countdown anytime there is that much flash. It warns the model it's coming. some models will close thier eyes, and open right before "3" if there's a lot of flash that close to thier face.
what do you use in the background to give the nice black color. Is it black paper roll or some kind of textile? Can you recommend a product & how you prop it up?
Hey Scott, Great job! Thanks for your time with all your videos. Helped me a lot. I have the same set up as you and think I may have the same camera. Anyway thanks again. I enjoyed all you videos.
If you look at the details in the highlights, the light isn't harsh at all... it's the high contrast that makes you think it's harsh lighting. I think this is a great way to light a model when shooting B&W.
If I don't feel like renting, or shelling out the $800-900 for an Elinchrome 6' strip, could I achieve the same effect by using a 6' softbox and feathering its right edge on the left side of the model's body?
yes you can do this with a soft box and you will need to bring it pretty far to the side. the farther to the side the light position will determine the degree of light fall off. dont forget the the strip light is a very narrow piece of light therefore the fall off is much easier accomplished. where the box is much wider and more difficult but should be able to be done.
Better yet take that 6' softbox and take some black construction paper and cover each side of the softbox and leave just how much you need exposed in the center. Voila even better you get to decide how wide your strip light will be. Cheap and easy.
do i need to use the flash on my camera when using studio lighting like that or do i just let the camera use the studio lights ? I keep thinking the camera flash will wash out any studio light.
the camera flash should not produce more power than your studio lights, therefore it should not put out a significant amount of light that would affect the studio light because the studio light should be producing more power and it would be causing the true exposure.
what was he using the strobes here for? I didn't even see their effect one bit in the pictures... I thought maybe a backlight or something but it looks like it was only the big softbox thingy lighting her..
fantastic....doesnt it look fantastic? ROFL

I like the color shots best here. Renee has beautiful coloring.

The light in the back was used only as a video hair light. It was not used for photography.

I saw a second light up and back to the right. Was that a hair light? Why wasn't that light mentioned? The shots look nice though.

Why are you using a whitebalance, don't you shoot in RAW?
denios35 2 years ago
whitebalancing, even in RAW, help denote the temp and tint levels, so you require smaller adjustments once in the RAW editor.

where is that flash coming from? what is that thing on top of your slr?

where can we buy that materials, de background and de strip?? and much does it cost??
vladislaowilly 2 years ago
Background support system is $200
10x24 Wescott Black Backdrop is $250Equivalent as an Elinchrom costs $600
Large Elinchrom Strip is $1,200
2-Pocket Wizard Transceivers are $360
Just remember that you can also rent equipment...I personally do not own any of this equipment except for the Canon 5D
If you were to rent this equipment...the rental price per day would be around $100 depending on the rental house . Hope that gives you an idea !!!
