Do I have to beat the level after finding the diaries in order to save them or can I just quit the level? I really don't want to finish the level. I struggle with the marine campaign.

You don't have to finish the levels in order to save the diaries.

@GdjeBoli if you were ever to gain an alt. ending it would probably be from beating the game on Nightmare, which is not a"Nightmare" just a so-called expert/hardcore mode where there's no checkpoints. The game WAITS you out of frustration of eternity, and they gave it like what? 30 Gpts.? XD so not worth it, it can't even be classified as a "true" challenge as it hinders your progress via save points ( like games did from ooh f**king 30yrs ago) instead of harder in-game implemented obstacles.

you can quit but there are audio logs at end of levels anyway o and y the way if you strugle with marine campaighn than know that you can run throgh it because every once and a while doorsshut behind you so any unkilled lizzard frog things cant follow.
