what is the best programming language to learn as of 2010. I imagine you wil ask what I wish to specialise in but I have no idea yet I'm just interested in starting to learn programming to see if I like it and C++, from stuff my uncle used to say, seems to be a good allrounder/fundamental one to learn form. Am I right?

@dwaynedibbly I'm in pretty much the same boat as you, and I have tried my hand at other languages like C++ before.

Today has been my first experience of VB, and from what I've seen, it's much more beginner-friendly, or at least it is for me.

It might just be that i've been using tutorials, which is how I find it easier to learn, but I feel much more comfortable with the VB interface and have already tried adapting the code myself etc.

But you'll only know for sure if you try them yourself.

in VB the subs are created with all the necessary 'symbols' and 'words' for lack of better terms. so, no. you just need to get to the hard code with VB. unless you wanted to edit private subs.

when you start to record press SHIFT+F3 and it will do it by its self

not even that. go into the hotkeys tab and where it says "Pan the capture area when the mouse is moved when the following keys are pressed: " and when u hold down that key when recording it moves the mouse but not the whole screen/video. just the mouse within the selected region. I have it set to CTRL that way I can use my pinky and still type xD
