With the 10 trillion videos that there are on youtube.. why are you wasting your time watching mine, obviously you searched for something for this vid to pop up... Secondly I live in Canada, and this video is available worldwide so It's not just about you.. Your profile says you are 49 years old.. REALLY?? you sure you're not 9 years old still living with mom eating Kraft Dinner.

  • @mikemichalkowdrums Best. Reply. Ever.

  • @mikemichalkowdrums lol you owned a troll :P gj

  • @mikemichalkowdrums Haha, Nice one. Reppen' Canada. Also, clearly this guy has never seen much of your other work, in which you clearly do rock, jazz, etc

  • @mikemichalkowdrums yo come maby he is 9

  • @mikemichalkowdrums I'm pretty sure his post was sarcasm.

  • @juangutierrezArt The problem with the internet is that you can never tell. :P

  • @flymarvin Get the fuck out man, this guy can play some serious beats and what do you do. Sit in your boxers trollin on videos because your an arse hole. So shut your mouth.

  • @flymarvin ?? you are on glue fella.

  • @flymarvin * This is an american asshole. Get the spelling right at leased before you go sounding like a jackass. & fuck off. Your the one sitting on your ass watching American T.V. programs everyday. America rules the world that's probably why your so upset.

  • @flymarvin Somebody doesn't know about technical drumming.

  • @flymarvin

You are too fail for words.

  • @flymarvin i dont know what u mean by this u just sound stupid man

  • @flymarvin lol, you troll

  • @flymarvin you got owned

  • @flymarvin You're an idiot. I just thought I would let you know. Beats and rhythms are universal. And, um, I'm American, and love rock n' roll, but it was founded in the UK. Have a nice day.

  • @philconey11 Actually, Rock & Roll came from African Americans in the USA. The UK did eventually play a part in the development of the genre, but that came after. And anyways, I think you're thinking of Punk, which originated at about the same time in both NYC and the UK.

  • @flymarvin You're the asshole...

  • @flymarvin I myself at the age of 42 self taught by playing my knees and finally being able to afford a used 13 piece 1967 slingerland completly enjoy your instruction. There is a lot more than 4/4 rock out there, which is what I have played most my life, but I am now reaching out for knowledge since my technique is SLOWLY comming together. Its PERCUSSIONIST like yourself that make me stride to entertain the masses with a complete and well rounded style that blows their brains out. Thanks

  • @flymarvin Your are so ignorant it makes me ashamed to share a country with u

  • You need more cymbals :/...*sarcasm* :)...And thumbs up.

  • canadian

  • Hi Mike my name is blake. I have been drumming for 5 years now and Im having some proplems with my stick holding. its like when I have been drumming for 10 to 15 min my thumbs and part of my palm start to hurt and start to go numb then I lose complete control of my sticks. I dont know whats wrong maybe you could help me and show me a exercise or a warm up that I can do to prevent this from happening agian. thank you

  • DUDE!! THAT SET IS BEAST!!!!! O.O

  • holy fucking massive kit..

  • mozambique

  • hi from ireland.

That small china near the right hand side HH, its so trashy, does it hang around on street corners in see through tights?

    , what is it?

  • Cowbells are fun! xD

  • RUSH for the win my friend great playing.

  • Okay, so I've come to some conclusions... the "most renound" horn players in the world are pricks.

The greatest guitar players are either way too relaxed or way too crazy.

and The best drummers are always guys who you could jam with for hours...

Your videos are awesome man... lol!

  • love the kit man

  • wow huge drum set

  • nice shirt!

  • Nice Mike, very nice groove with rudiments... you rocks dude!!!!!! muajajajaja

  • sweet mother of god thats a big kit! thats what im talkin aboat.

  • Hey Drummers! I'm now offering 1 on 1 private Skype Lessons... Message me on my youtube channel for more details!

  • 0:34 what was is called a beningo bembe?

  • SOunds like Jimmy Chamberlin!

  • 3:10 how are you controlling that second high hat :O

  • @ValentineQ14 with the back part of her feet...

  • Great groove on a rudiment that we all know. Nice playing Mike!

  • you sir are a beast....kudos from ireland!!

  • don´t have u a more big drum man !!?? lol

    affffffffffffffffffffffff

  • I miss giving drum lessons.

  • Try playin' straight triplets between the hats (w/ foot as the" trip") and the bass drum (as the "ple et") underneat that same groove. . .works great and is not so herky jerky.

  • sick drumming man the! more cowbell XD

  • drumset looks real cool. good lesson

  • nice man i watch all of your videos and they just get better and better

  • sorry for my ignorance :s but i've a doubt. how do you control the hi-hat on your right?

  • GREAT SHIRT! Where did you get it!!

Oh yeah... nice kit too I guess ;)

  • damn!!! where did that 2nd hi hat come from??? and how the hell did you manage to have the pedal for that one just down there!!!

  • @OmarH26 Probably a remote Hi hat.

  • nice!

  • Thanks for the lesson...I've been learning triplet grooves (e.g., Bernard Purdie half-time shuffle - although I prefer to call it a "triplet groove") which can group 12 strokes to a measure...just adding 4 single-strokes within a simple (8-stroke) paradiddle groove adds to my repertoire of 12-stroke measures...great!

  • It's a credit to drums altogether (and perhaps on other instruments as well) that playing something simple on different pieces (drums/cymbals) can sometimes sound rich and intricate (and interesting)...thanks for the lesson...keep up the good work!...

  • having major problems getting my set to spund as deeep and true as yours. How can I do oit. It is a pearl masters series. Thanks

  • wow nice kit man!

  • Dude, you should totally get microphones for your drums. It would sound sick!!

  • it's remind me a little to the bernard pretty purdie shuffle the thing you do in the cowbell.

    great videos 5/5

  • it's remind me a little to the bernard pretty purdie shuffle the thing you do in the cowbell.

    great videos 5/5

  • stimulus satiation!!! :D

  • ONE MILLLLLLION DOLLARS hahahahahahahaha xD

  • ONE MILLLLLLION DOLLARS hahahahahahahaha xD

  • I like the little high hat in the corner that is very interesting!

  • AT the minute 1:50 it siunds just like Led Zeppelin's song "Fool in the rain" (a really great John Bonham's pattern!). Bonham is God, you know.. :)

  • At the minute 1:50 it sounds just like Led Zeppelin's song "Fool in the rain"... a really amazing John Bonham's groove! God = Bonham

  • That's not the kind of kit you wanna have to take down after a gig is it?lol

    Good lesson, thanks (:

  • damn i loove your set

  • true dat

  • :o

    your that guy from freedrumlessons

  • @muffinmonk2 You Bet!

  • wowza

  • @mikemichalkowdrums

you are? wow you are pro!! i love those lessons

  • fantastic drum set !!

  • This is the same drum teacher from FreeDrumLessons. I thought that was him, but he looks entirely different in these videos than he did there.

  • I think his kit is way to small.

  • @272Christopher...haha...this might just be his MINI-kit - wait until you see what could be his REAL-sized kit!

  • @272Christopher Its a sick kit

  • the bass drum follows the cow bell, it is just one of the 6/8 afro cuban grooves. Ur bass drum does not have to follow every hit of the cow bell just find a pattern that you enjoy but i normally play it with the bass drum followin exactly with that cow bell.

  • Man if you could explain what you're doing with the bass drum that would be awesome because you totally forgot to explain that part!!!

  • the groove you start at 3:47 sounds very Mike Portnoy influenced i would mention the song in particular but I'm not on my personal computer and don't have my music collection with me

  • Definitely Mike Portnoy.

  • yea it sounds like MP but the song it sounds closest to is euthanasia waltz by brand x...if you dont know it check it out and you will know wat im talkin bout

  • i think the song ur talkin about is off the six degrees album......cant think of the track tho

  • It's just the double paradiddle moved to the hi hat. I hear that groove all the time in afro-cuban music.

  • good job with the cowbell , what kind of set u have

  • dang that's a nice drumset

  • Thanks for this

  • I got a fevah! and the only perscription, is more cowbell! haha hey great beats man im deff. borrowing a couple :)

  • IS that Yamaha pads :O! Awesome :P (The digital...)

  • what vic firth sticks are u using??

  • WE NEED MORE COWBELL!!!!

  • I AGREE!!! We ALL Need MORE Cowbell in our lives!!!!!

  • :) Indeed

  • How much did that drum kit cost altogether? Cos it looks and sounds damn good!

  • im pretty sure hes sponsored....(free)

  • endorsed by vic firth and yamaha, im not sure about sabian.

  • one MILLLLLLION Dollars.....muahhhhahahahahahahaah!!!

  • @Halomad10 this guy plays rush covers so he needs a big kit like this :P

    Rock on!

  • did that rush shirt man!! did you get it at one of their showz? I wish I could have that shirt! let me know if you're selling it man!

  • Hey Renerich23, that fill is just alternating singles between the snare and mounted tom....that one is actually pretty easy....for a real challenge....move the singles to the floor tom and kick. I have seen guys actually alternate between open and close hi-hat with no wash.....if you can master that one....then you will be one bad ass drummer.

  • great groove and leeson , but does anybody know how to do that amazing fill at 3:55 ?

  • He'is is just doing alternating single stokes between the snare and tom....Dennis Chambers is really sick with that type of fill......If you want a real challenge....try the same fill using the kick and hi-hat.....or the kick and floor tom....it's very powerful in solos.

  • it's singles between the snare and tom....

  • siiickness, the last solo is awesome.

  • incredible drummer , you are exelent , contragulations !!!!!!

  • sickness

  • jeez man. so many drums! crazy.

  • your hihat is just going, right ?

  • how do you get your snare to sound like that w.o any dampening? I have a pork pie 7" x 14" snare that came with my Little Squealer kit made by Pork Pie, I can't get that sound that you have w/o a studio ring without that it's ringy. I have an emperor x coated on the top side, evans hazy 300 on the bottom.

  • Woa... 3:55 pretty simple in its structure but ... woaa how you used it, damn nice!

  • great way of teaching :)

  • What a small kit xD

  • i ♥ Rush

  • amazing drum set
