I do appreciate your effort, everyone can see how much you love this piece but I think it's just TOO MUCH for you...I mean I have the piece too and I often read it, trying to play some lines but this is really a hard step. I'm Italian and the Liszt sonata can be included only in last exam of the 10-year music school...However I support you
Thanks for your comment. I agree with all you said. As an amateur I can afford to live my dreams, one of them is learning and playing the Liszt Sonata. You said it is clearly visible that I love this piece - and this is ultimately true! I am really curious to which point my love for it will carry me. I will go on studying and performing it for a long time, I assume. It has become a companion for me. By the way: Gerard Carter and I are currently writing our second book about it.
Thank you so much, Paul! This means really much to me. In another comment you said that the Sonata is one of your favourite pieces. For me it is the same: since I first heard it on one of the records my father owned when I was about 15 I loved it - and I (and my fabulous teacher) will not stop working on it until I am able to play it in a more or less worthy way (and without memory lapses, of course ...).
Thank you, Kelly. The piano in this video is the Steinway D of my teacher. It is one of the best Steinway Ds (Hamburg built, 1984 or so - the golden period of Steinway).
Hi Kelly, thank you very much for your kind words. I am glad to share with you the inspiration I constantly receive from my fabulous music teacher. By the way: your whole channel is a great inspiration for me and everyone else taking piano lessons.

Thank you, Gerard. I certainly will go on with my studies of the sonata. Playing this piece has been a dream for me since my teenage days!
