  • I really feel the holy spirit move in me every time I hear this song. Praise be to the Lord!!!!

  • @gymcoach15

thats probably your inner demon moving

  • OLE BORUD'S FINEST MOMENT!!!

  • How the CRAP do you play the first 18 seconds of this song? I have the rest of it down pat (except when the "beginning" comes back in the middle), but that first part is just too fast for me to figure out!

  • A broken heart, a kneeling soul. The spirit will set you on fire to give you strength to reach the ones who search the truth with a deep desire.

  • GOD BLESS AMERICA EXTOL COME BACK!!!!

  • Took me a long time to get into this album, but i'm really starting to like it. it's actually very good for jogging IMO.

  • this song is absolutely gorgeous... and the lyrics are incredibly deep... i don't care about you guys' preference in music, but you gotta admit the violin solo and the chorus riff can friggan make you cry blood... (in the best way possible lol)

  • Extol, the only breath of fresh air that I've seen in a long time. They may have influences from other bands but they have a pretty unique and distinctive sound.

  • I like the lyrics but the sound is unbearable

  • I think much the same about popular christian music. To each his own, according to taste.

  • Precisely... well, I guess that's a lesson some Extol fans need to learn. I've learned that musical taste has a lot to do with mental attitude. I enjoy Slipknot, Metallica, classic Korn (life is peachy), Marylin Manson, Rob Zombie. I enjoy a variety of music with angst such as Rammstein. But this sound is different. A bit too much of the Manson style screaming in incoherency and the music sounds off, like it wasn't mixed properly. If that what you like...

  • you faggot, go listen to backstreet boys

  • That is one genre of music I've never had a flavor for. I'm not much into the prefab boy/girl bands and pop music. Besides that and country I'll listen to everything from Bach to Wumpscut or Das Ich. From Roger Whitaker to Insane Clown Posse.

Just because I don't like this particular band does not make me a faggot or someone who listens to backdoor boys. However, your statement says a ton about you. Apparently Extol is a bit of a security blanket for you and you'd lose your identity without em

  • nice 4chan name drop, but you like ICP (worst thing on earth) so your argument is invalid. And about the security blanket? nigga please. Extol isn't even a favorite band of mine

  • I've never been on 4chan... what name are you referring to? I tossed those names out there because I do occasionally listen to them all and they paint a broad picture of musical taste. So as to elucidate the fact that I'm not valuating Extol's sound against a history of listening to pop music.

  • there's a board on 4chan called /r9k/, thought your name was a reference. And I don't "just like screaming herp derp" there is a LOT more to music than the vocals. Sure, I love harsh vocals, but I love clean vocals too. Some of the deepest music I've ever heard uses harsh vocals (Emperor, Weakling) and some use clean vocals (Cynic). But if you like terrible excuses for artists like ICp you don't even deserve to hear music as good as Cynic...

  • No, my name is a play on my name and my philosophical leanings. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying ICP are awesome musicians. I'm simply saying that I can tolerate their sound. Now it may be a difference in our basilar membranes or what-not, but there is no reason to expect everyone should like the same music. I stated at the start that I enjoyed the lyrics, but found the music unbearable. You seemed offended, but I'm not offended by your dislike of ICP. I just see it as a subjective difference.

  • "so your argument is invalid"

I'm not even arguing with you. I'm telling you how it is. Either you drop your ego for a few minutes and maybe learn something, or you keep brambling on like a fool trying to make a name for himself. You aren't going to hurt me with anything you say because I've already purged that part of the ego from my system. The Ego is You, that's the hardest part of this, whatever you feel is probably wrong and in your own way. Maybe you just like screaming, wow, thats depth.

  • Now bear with me a minute, the lyrics to this song state "Crucifixion of the ego". The ego comes from Latin "Ego" meaning "The I" the self. The ego is a collection of identifiers, subject-object relations, or Phenomenal Intentionality Relations (Metzinger). One such relation is the Egos relation to specific music, bands and genres. The ego says "These are my bands, they define my identity, and everyone else is either likes the same or is inferior.". That's all EGO. Your defense of Extol is EGO.

  • Really, to "Crucify the ego" you have to feel like shit. If you are finding yourself in online comments ridiculing others for their musical tastes, them I'm afraid ego is dominant in your mental space. Ego is all about being better, being first, and so forth. I've uploaded a segment by Maxi Jazz on the Ego which I titled "My name is..." (Ego). Good stuff, outlines basically what some of the manifest symptoms of Ego are, but basically Ego is the sense of independent existence and identity.

  • I heard this song a LONG LONG LONG LONG TIMe ago. Got me into Extol...Thanks for posting this up here. Seriously...Favorite Song EVER

  • yay first comment!!!

sounds allot like believer but that was there main influence
