Im very confused. My Q6700 @ 2.67GHZ with 2 GB 800Mhz and 512mb 8800GT dual SLI configuration at 1680X1050 lags while my Pentium 4 single core @ 2.4GHZ with 1.5GB 557mhz and 512mb ATI X1650 Pro AGP at 1280X1024 doesnt lag at all..... and Im playing Fallout 3 as well on both systems..... I can play them both on medium settings but the Q6700 lags while the Pentium 4 doesnt. Why?

Try that with one Radeon HD 5850 and see what happens ;)

How comes the video is so laggy? I have a HD5850 too and play at 1920x1080 and the game always stays at 60 fps exactly. I use fraps too, and the videos never lag.

I have a Phenom II x4 965 quad core processor and you have a dual core. Could that be the reason?

I played through the first time without any problems... after that, any attempt at playing this part was pathetic, froze every time. Then again, the PS3 version freezes at any point of the game after about an hour of playing.

I have to force triple buffering or vsync with this card in games because my monitors refresh rate cannot keep up with the card and it causes tearing. so vsync fixes it.

Do you think I could manage 8xAA and all maximum settings when the only difference is that I have an AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400+@2.2Ghz rather than an E8500?

@Foxxie0kun 15x AF, wont go up to 16 for some reason with this game. That processor is a huge bottleneck I'm sorry to say. specially if using a larger resolution screen. I would definitely consider upgrading before you get a 5850 or if you already have.

I runs very well with a 5850. I just use Vsync to make the game smoother but it caps the game at 60 FPS. It could go easily higher than that though. and Fraps kills framerates.

@rompecondon When the game matches itself to your monitors refresh rate. My monitors refresh rate is at 60 so the game will never go above 60 FPS. This reduces Frame rate spikes and results in much smoother gameplay.

@rompecondon but if you go less than 75 refresh rate your eyes is going to be more sleepier but if you watch the monitor on 75 or higher refresh rate your eyes are not going to get so sleepy
