I just went through this part yesterday! I was shocked to see him hug her like that. He was just so relieved from saving the ruined town. I love Luke, he's got the best character development I've seen in a game in a long time and being an avid gamer, I don't say that a lot.

Besides, the game theme is changing, the story wouldn't have any impact if the main char doesn't change and there is no proof the people can change to a better person. Moreover, you can't argue with Van that everyone can change for a better world without score.

It can be startling but nice when someone glomps you <3 I made a birthday banner for my friend once and it made him really happy. That was the first genuine glomp I'd ever gotten. Another friend of mine made up the 'slomp'--sliding glomp which is pretty fun to do ^^

^^; Well, it's under assumption that they hooked up at the very end. ((The anime confirms this, cough cough at the very end when tear says. "I love you" that sorta gives it away and makes Natalia pretty much the third wheel. It really wasn't suggested too much with the Guy and Natalia hook up, though I'm sure there is a fan base for it. Also, the Tale's realm always likes doing this; example: In Symphonia, Llyod and Collete hold hands at the end. And that ends my little rant.

Something you have to realize while watching this scene is that, while a sudden hug would suprise anyone, the Japanese are really not as big on hugs as we are in America and the UK. In Japanese society, hugs are something that are reserved for the people that REALLY matter, so you can imagine that the Japanese players (the core audiance) are all like "GASP! Luke just hugged Tear! OMG!" So yeah... just thought I'd throw that out there. Love this scene btw. Really shows how much Luke has grown.

I'd only want a sequel if it was played out well... Dawn of the New World isn't too great from what I've heard, and I heard that Destiny 2 basically has the same story has Phantasia. Or so I hear. Haven't actually played either yet.

Just to give an example, with the Megaman series, people argued TIRELESSLY over what happened between the first Megaman games and Megaman X, most claiming that Zero went berserk and killed the main cast. Yes, it is created by the same fonon frequency but Luke and Asch had the same frequency as Lorelei and can do it by themselves for that reason which is different from a replica and original using it together, and the big bang effect presumes that the original is the only one who has it's fonons being separated,

@ChCa I wonder if there's a way to mod the game so that all of the speaking is in Japanese but the text is all in English, that way you get the awesome voices but know what they're saying.

@PredictableEnigma Actually, there is a hacked version. Try searching information on "Tales of the Abyss Undub". You can even find videos of it here in youtube.

One thing that can be surprising for those who don't know about the Japanese version is that all skits have voice over. With the undubbed version, even the skit voices are added.

@ChCa THAT'S AWESOME! I must investigate this. I heard someone was doing something like that for the PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia. The fans aren't going to dub it (because that would be stupid) but they're modifying all of the text to be English, thus fixing the injustice that Bamco has laid on us. They're doing the same thing for Tales of Graces, which I think they're working on first.
