@volure1 do you actually know what you are talking about? 128 mb of ram comes on those cheap Chinese knockoff netbooks. You can't even upgrade it either. BTW the Chinese ones usually come with 300mhz and up nowadays. The netwalker is 800mhz or something like that and includes 512mb of ram. Also if these weren't ARM based, they could run XP. I just installed XP on an ancient 533mhz pc with 512mb of sdram.
we all know that umpc are very basic netbook with 166 mhz depending on brand they range about 166 mhz processor to 266 even 300 mhz not much most come with 128 mb of ram the max ram u can put in is 256 mb if u peeps dont know much about cpu and put a 1bg ram in there it will run but it wont processor the full gb of ram because of the processor can only handle so much at a time these umpc range price to 118.98 in eant or other site like geeks tiger direct amazon and newegg running out of word so.
Wow Sharp has really come up with a gem. Long boot times, long load times and a computer you cant even watch video on- this is 2009. Scrap Linux and install XP. Scrap the Netbook and buy a decent laptop. Waste of time and a waste of money
@asdfqwert10000 lol you think that it would do better with XP on it?? ROFL. XP is a much heavier operating system and if it has any hope of being useful/usable then it would be running the lighter OS of the two, linux. And btw... XP was never ported to the ARM arch. because I'll bet even microsoft forsaw that failure... and netbooks are not a waste of time and money either... you cant put a fucking full size laptop in a bag or a purse without looking like some type of mentally ill person
are you allright? you are my favorite channel except you don't make videos very often any more. i guess i'll have to watch your old stuff. have a great day anyway my friend.
Is there such a thing as being too small to be useful ? The computer that you were demonstrating appears to be really too small to be of any use. I have an Acer Aspire One with the 8.9" screen and I find it way too small and updated to their 11.6" model.
P.S. I like your reviews and find them very professional and please keep making them
It seems we still have to wait for the internet tablet in which the Flash is actually "usable" in place of "working". Way too much judder and/or tearing. But then, even the regular Flash plugin for Linux sucks in performance...
Honestly I don't see much point for this. It's processor is much too underpowered, even for a "netwalker". Really if the main purpose of this device is to check up on facebook and twitter and watch youtube videos, why not just use an iPod touch or an iPhone which is actually pocketable. Really, it doesn't make much sense.

i like how sharp designed the keys with a large bold font.
Might be slow because its a buggy version of ubuntu. I know i had audio and video problems with easypeasy , while a couple other distros worked fine.

It appears quite weak. Didn't come with a stylus, did it?

Good try from Sharp but flash video seems too choppy. Device seems too slow. Pass
Thanks for the great videos JKK and being the Guinea pig for these devices!

Underpowered, not quite small enough to be truly pocketable, would be fine if it was released 3 or 4 years ago.

Amazing device but the micro-processor REALLY NOT powerful enough.
neovannn 2 years ago 2
It depends...
What do you want to do with it?
The PC-Z1 is build for cloud computing.
And I think it's strong enough for that.
