  • Awesome Vids man.

Picked up a 90 YJ for a Winter Rig.. its amazing.

Lookin into makin her an off road Beaut, Any big suggestions? its a 4.2 6cyl. Carbed. with 35x245x15 BFG's ( I think ) a 2" Suspension Lift and 4" Body Lift, and Wheel Spacers.

Looking into an exhaust and intake. and Any other helpful hints.

Thanks man, Keep the vids comin. Good shit.

FIRST thing is first... Get rid of that retarded and dangerous body lift and if you want to keep the 35's you're going to need to lift it properly, which means spending probably $2000 for all the right parts, plus anything that needs replaced in the process. (Grease, tools, brakes, fluids, etc.) Do your homework and pick a good complete lift kit and ditch the transfer case drop, because the right way to lift a Jeep is to get a slip yoke eliminator and a CV style driveshaft. Good luck!

And also since you have a 4.2, if you're looking to do some upgrades to bring the 4.2 up to date, look into the TeamRush and Nutter upgrades (google) and do them. And maybe a good carb like a Holley 2bbl. With some light modification & elbow grease you can use a couple choice 4.0L parts to either convert the 4.2 to EFI or retain the carb and get a major kick in the pants by using the 4.0 head on the 4.2. I would fix things before changing anything else. You may need to change gears!

  • 4 cyl?

  • great choice of music thanks for that.

  • this vidoe makes me think "one Day" this the jeep of my dreams.

  • ya but u can flip the leaf springs and gain between a 4in and 5in lift so y not go yj

  • this is my jeep nowwwww!!!

  • hey man i own this jeep now i just traded my 1997 f250 for it from some guy out of connicute. IM possitve its this jeep because all the recripts i found in the glove box match up to you

  • hey man i own this jeep now i just traded my 1997 f250 for it from some guy out of connicute. IM possitve its this jeep because all the recripts i found in the glove box match up to you

  • Prob coulda just cept it in 2wd for that.

  • How do you like that Posi- Lok? I'm really considering getting one. I had my vacuume blow out on me in the middle of a mud pit in my YJ. How do they work? Do you engage it then put your rig in 4x4 drive? Or the other way around? Did you install it yourself too? Just been curious.

  • @8DrugFreeBoy8 The Posi lok is a must! I had it installed with the lift, they have them for lifted and non lifted. Engage it, then put in in 4wd.

  • do you think you could take the music off the video so i could here the yj better?

  • blazin a trail by urself lol

    nice vid

  • CCR and YJ's, two of my most favorite things! I've got a 95 sahara ed. that is lifted, locked, warn winch, high lift, all the good stuff. Love it

  • I think CCR was a great choice of music for this video. Also, great jeep! I'm 15 and I'm looking to by a YJ.

  • WOW! That is one kick-ass Jeep, bro! I wish I didn't live in a desert so I could do somethin like this. Great car. I loved the shots of it comin up the river.

  • Ok i have a 2.5L and it has a 4 inch suspension lift, 2 inch shackle lift, and a 3 inch body lift air raid cold air intake, performance chip, and throttle body spacer, recently placed a hydrogen generator on it. So i was wondering how the tfx exhausts work with sound and performance. Thanks

  • The TFX was good, little more power, nothing to write home about though...you can hear it in this vid. My biggest problem was that I had stock axles/gearing...that was going to be my next thing but I sold it...tired of the carb...I am thinking of ordering a JK (2 dr) with the 3.73's(only a $50.00 option, no brainer over the 3.21 crap) and going 3" lift w/34x12.5x15 Swamper TRXUS...if I had another $10K to burn, I would get a Rubicon...

  • How do you like the 4.2? I have been looking at YJs but avoiding the 4.2s and 2.5s.

  • Mine had the 258 w/carb...go for 91 or newer with EFI if you must go for a YJ...if you don't want the YJ for the leaf springs, go for a TJ!

  • Thanks, here are the upgrades: 6 CYL, WEBER CARB, K&N AIR FILTER, TFX PERFORMANCE EXHAUST, POSI LOK, 4" SUSPENSION LIFT, 1.5" HD SHACKLES, 2" BODY LIFT, 35X12.5X15 SST DISCOVERER TIRES, CRAGAR 15X8 WHEELS AND DISCONNECTS.

  • what size tires? and what kind?

    very nice rig.

  • i have a 91 and it came with a 3in suspension lift and i was wondering if the bigger tires and k&n intake burn your gas a lot more
