  • Hi Richard, I left HK to Canada in 1978. So I didn't have a chance to listen to your music until my friend gave me a cassette tape in mid 80's. The tape consists a few of your songs, along with songs from Beyond's own recorded tape. Both were great although different styles. I did have the chance to purchase your "this year's model" album in Canada later on. Is it possible to upload your "little by little" & "訓練班" on you _tube? I just can't find any source to locate these songs. Thanks!

  • First thanks for buying our 2nd album, TsaiShing. Unfortunately we don't have any videos of the two songs you mentioned, but I do have a live performance of us doing them but in less than ideal lighting conditions. I'll think about it.

  • 我當時都不知有這隊樂隊:(

  • ah well... we're on a rather tight budget then, hence the minimal of promotion! Sorry.

  • I owned the "Fried Rice" Album but have since lost it. What a wonderful surprise to see you and your videos on youtube after all these years!

Thank you for bringing back a lot of old memories, The 80s was certainly the golden age of HK Music Scene.

  • HI TSAISHING, 除了"EYE TO EYE & MY GF SMOKES外,其他如: mind made up, little by little, you havn't got a leg to stand on, & FAN LEAN BARN.......,都令我聽出耳油,特別係"訓練班(FAN LEAN BARN)"抵死過癮兼而有之.......

  • I really appreciate you liking "little by little" which was also one of my own personal favourites, spent a lot of time writing and recording it....

  • and "訓練班" which nearly didn't make it into the album cos my partner Joseph was against the idea of putting a Cantonese song in an English album, but in the end I won out through my insistence cos those Cantonese lyrics took me two years to get finished (due to my poor Chinese!) Besides it sort of reflected the mentality of most young Hong Kong people at the time (true even nowadays), hence I wasn't going to leave it in my drawer, so to speak.

  • 終於在u-tube搵到你地喇,好開心!

ha!ha! very happy meet U @@youtube, pls don't mind about my eng is not good.

  • Thank you KOCQ for seeking us out.

  • Go daddy!! hahaha

  • Thank you all kindly once again, as you might not know, it's semi-autobiographical! There, I said it, admitting for the first time!

  • i love this song

  • Touching and beautiful performance.

  • very beautiful voice!!!

  • My my, thank you so, so very much, what a compliment...wow, you've really made my day.

  • your talent of music is no doubt the "Brainy" type.

Espcially I fancy your piece of the cartoon "Sweet Little Princess". Wicked piece of artwork.

Pleased to see you here. Thank you!

  • Thanks but I sure hope you haven't mistaken me for someone else! What's this about "piece of the cartoon "Sweet Little Princess". Wicked piece of artwork."!!! Beats me, please elaborate.

    Richard

  • Ha, embarassing I am. Since I have been told by my school friend long time ago (Back in 1990) that this cartoon 甜甜小公主 song was done by you and it is indeed sung by Prudence Liew.

I just realised that it was composed by 陳永良. Sorry Richard.

The piano keyboard and the guitar solo part at the middle of the song really song like your style though~

  • No need to apologize at all, it's no big deal. Although I've never heard the song, I'm sure Joe Chan did a good job producing it, he's a very talented, genuine and generous friend...he did the trumpet solo for me on TsaiShing's "Songs" without charging a cent, for which I'm forever grateful. Thanks for writing and letting me know anyway. Cheers, Richard

  • Thank you thank you. It's my own favourite as a matter of fact, sort of autobiographical. I actually wrote it around 1978, but waited till 1986 before I released it on record. Hence I had 8 years to fiddle around with the lyrics and arrangement, etc...talk about slow! Well, that's me.

    Cheers, Richard.

  • great! gilbert o !?

  • hahaha...sorry can't say I'm ever influenced by Mr. O'Sullivan, but yes I'm an admirer of his in a way.

  • Wow this certainly brought back lots of memories... Tsaishing was one of my favorite bands back then, specially this one. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you...sure makes my day.

  • So what happened to the band? I remembered Tsaishing was under Tina Lau's Black & White record label... with others like Bowie Lam, Deanie Yip and you guys... oops, I am dating myself here...:) And what are you guys up to now?

  • Sorry for the late reply...we were never a band, just two guys (a duo, if you like) who got together and with help from some musician friends recorded the two albums. Joe's back to his film producing and me, well I'm working for 88DB dot com helping with mulitimedia stuffs.

  • Beautiful song, thanx for sharing ^^

  • wow are you the real tsai shing?

  • yup

  • wow never heard of you before but you write some pretty good songs...look forward to your videos
