A work friend was dying of pancreatic cancer in ICU. She always wanted to hear me play the piano / keyboards. Although in a coma, I asked the nurses if I could bring my keyboards in and play for her. Nurses welcomed it. Played for around two hours....the last song I played was "The Rose." My friend passed away later that night.
i really love the lyrics of this song i think the song says it all, its like we all have good times been through some sad times but there is only one seed thankyou this song is such an inspiration red roses are the best.
I cry every time I hear this song my Daughter loved it she Died May the 24th 1983 in an auto accident with my Nephew he was 18, she was 19 years old, she loved this song it reminds me that our children and loved ones are only here on a loan so we should cherish them and love them with all our heart's as long as they are with us. RIP my angels
GREAT SONG !!! first time I heard the song and it is so great though it is a sad song .. it makes me want to cry .. by the way Bette Midlers version is the best ...
Once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you better start to copy and paste to be saved

We all know there are any number of songs which should never be covered by any other artiste & this is definitely one of them.Only Bette has ever performed this beautiful song with the right kind of soulful passion! Listening to her singing it always has me mysteriously leaking from the corners of my eyes! Must just be co-incidental that I get dust in my eyes whenever I hear Bette sing this,eh?!
