@BlueWaffleMan9000 Sadly, that is what keeps me away. Call me really old school, but I believe in the pursuit of knowledge as a self-empowering, self-disicpline. I don't agree with how the university/education system has evolved to be a superficial "ticket system" for success or knowledge. Too many graduates that still don't know a thing, grade curving, proxy teaching, or replacing pedagogical duties altogether with a fucking video presentation. No ty, I am a big boy.
Even though he's rushing through it a bit, anyone speaking english at an academic level should be able to understand him. I understood him quite perfectly, and english is far from my first language. Interesting class, I am going to watch the rest! Thanks
lol that might be true (just might cuz i speak 4 languages fluently) but the real shit u bicth can't understand is that i am not teaching in university of sri lanka or something
I strongly believe that it is fair to expect a MIT prof to a) speak english b) don't put shit together like he is doing a grade 9 presentation
@kiarash00 i am not agreeing with you, he is speaking english, but honestly, there were times where i totally lost him, and didn't understand a word he is saying.
I think it depends on where one comes from. I find his accent a bit weird but totally understandable(considering that I come from South India :D and he is from Sri Lanka)
Its just a free lecture. You can use it if you can, if not at least don't be rude.
Its not as if you paid something to take this class..
@crystosis Thank you for having the courage and moral integrity to address this. I found his accent to be just fine. I think some people need more exposure to "the world." I am certain many find my accent "funny" too. Where I currently live, even my surname is very odd, often coming under question. Sometimes I wish my last name was Smith or Williams; most times, however, I am happy it is not.
thanks to curses like this i learn things i cant in my university. I'm from Mexico... Thank you!!!
