This is what happens when they have a big private school next to Okland with over 500,000 people and next to San Francisco with over 800,000 people two of the 40 biggest citys in the USA. In one of the best states for high school sports. They get to pick like 100 kids out of almost 1,000,000 kids from central California alone then thiers the kids they can get from other parts of Cal and the country. Its the perfect storm.

No De La Salle was bad.. it's a fact. Their coach even stated he knew they would lose at some point that year. Bellevue was good, no doubt about it.. but if they played each other in both of their primes, it would have been a different game, and either team could have won.

De La Salle also ended up loosing like 3-4 games that year :-/ all to local teams they usual rolled the past 20 years. I don't think they beat them at their best. Still ended the streak though, gotta give them that.

I think they are able to get transfer students from around and recruit so they have the best players from all around, its not like a regular high school, the great players transfer to that school and so on, which is unfair cause its like an all-star team vs reg high team.

De La Salle does not have superstars. They are a team. Most of the teams they beat are bigger and "better" than DLS. Remember when DLS when to Hawaii to play the #1 team out there? Hawaii outweighed DLS like 50-100 pounds per person.. Hawaii was used to just running over the opponent. DLS came out and dominated them.

due to the size of cali, competition there is like having the whole east coast and south compete against each other in football. De La Salle played the best teams in Cali, Hawaii, and Washington. Many of the teams they defeated have beaten teams from other states as well. Their record will never fall.

Bellevue (WA) High School broke the De La Salle 151 game winning streak on September 4, 2004 at Seahawks Stadium in Seattle. Most of them are playing in college right now. Bellevue went on to defeat Long Beach Poly (the other top ranked CA team)in 2005 to start the year. Hasty and Savanna are at UW, Schilling is at Michigan and the 14 year old (at the time) QB, Erick Block is at Washington State. Video of the De La Salle game is under "nightflight007"

Except Bellevue Washington! The year after breaking the De La Salle 151 game streak, in 2005, Bellevue (a public high school outside Seattle) defeated Long Beach Poly (CA) which was ranked No. 3 in the Super 25 USA Today poll and No. 1 on the West Coast, 30-16. That same year, Bellevue won the 3A championship 5 of the past 6 years. In 2005, led by current UW RS/Fr QB Jake Locker, Ferndale won the 3A title. Hasty (now at UW), rushed 30 times for 271 yards. Bellevue controlled almost every aspect of the game, running at will. The Wolverines never punted and never passed. They scored on their first seven possessions and held the vaunted Spartans scoreless in the second half. 24,987 of us were there.
