What a great year this is! France must still be one of the biggest losers ever. I've read somewhere that percentage-wise this French song would be in the top 10 of all ESC songs gaining most points. The UK win was OK though. I love it. But I have to say that my alltime favourite song here is the fabulous Monaco entry. Probably my fave ESC song ever. But there's lots of other great songs this year like Israel, Yugoslavia and I even have a soft spot for Norway. This is my fave year. Period.
well, at that time, until 1979 or 1980, votes were announced according to the running order of the country which would receive the points. So, that year, as UK would receive a lot of 12 pts, the 12 pts were often announced first ;-)
Why is it that the u.k seems to be the only country that doesnt show repeats of the eurovision song contest? Is it because our broadcasters dont take it as seriously as those of other countries. If so, why show it at all?
They don't in France either beacause they absolutely don't care about Eurovison... I'm even myself surprised that foreign countries broadcast old Eurovisions ! But French people think that it's old-fashioned and for loosers... Actually I've heard that UK and France were the only country that didn't broadcast the 50th anniversary of Eurovision program !
I go for the 'surprise' theory - sometimes you blurb things you don't intend to when you're taken off-guard (goodness knows I have done so on more than one occasion!).
Yes, she laughed a couple of times at the scores which were given, and snorted at others as well, as if she was either personally biased or aware of the absurdity of it all.

Urribari chocheaba ya con 34 años menos, ¿como se puede decir que tras los votos de Monaco esto "está dificil"?

We voted in a strange way (as always !) but I'm proud we gave 8 points to Greece ;-)
LoL Monaco : She says "Angleterre" and "Hollande"... After that people will again say that we don't care about foreign countries...

That's unusual. The 12 points come first?

The Italien representer helped her because she forgot the points and said five instaed of ten.The only host that did a worse job was Toto!
94ayd 4 years ago
Actually that's five instead of six but your point is good.

Am I the only one who finds Corry Brokken a rather awkward host? She must be the only host to call on the French jury in English!
setheurovision94 4 years ago 2
yes i agree - i dont think she did a good job

Why did Corry Brokken say "So" after the Italian jury gave Irland 12 points?
Mangoteppe 4 years ago 3
I have no idea, really - maybe expressing surprise?

I think she sounded almost rude, like she thought "What ever"...

lol - yes, you could be right...

@Mangoteppe - yes, she's using exactly the same tone of voice as you use for "yeah, right". Excellent.

@Mangoteppe It's a literal transalation from Ducth 'zo', meaning 'wow'! It has a positive ring to it.

@wmrmn Ah, that explains the seemingly bitchy remark - thanks! :-)
