@extrasuperpowr such sounds can be also produced by a small modular synth. A few doepfer A-100 modules could also do the job - and its more flexible.

i'd say its a clock + 4040 controling a vactrol hooked up to a 40106 or such. with one pot changing clock and another one before the vactrol, changing pitch...

I've made some analog synths based on the double 555 timers, what they now call an AtariPunk, but sequenced. What you have done here does way beyond what I thought was possible. I'm not even sure what is going on, but I do know that it's awesome! Very nice work!

If you add a 1MΩ to a 4MΩ Resistor in front of the first capacitor to the ground it should remove the pop when you switch it on...
