FF7 Quadra Magic Glitch

working for my psp version, found it easier to fly real close to the floor otherwise the highwind was flying in circles and all over the place

Thanks for the video. Took me a few minutes but I finally figured out the trick to it. After I knew to help L1 on the way down it got simpler, and then I kept getting the ship to phase through the cliff but Tifa always got out on the wrong bit! But I discovered I simply wasn't lining the ship up close enough to the edge of the cliff.

It literally has to be lined up as close to the edge as possible whilst still allowing you to land. Nose of the shadow below should be over the cliff. :)

With no 'strafing' sideways, the Highwind immediately takes off again to maximum altitude. The strafing tricks it into not doing that. The character can also get stuck

I found it pretty near impossible to do, but it happened by accident. So, what can I say? Keep trying? Patience might be sufficient, or it might not

There are many reasons to raise Chocobos; eg Quadra Magic is nothing compared to Mimic & KotR

Even if you can beat Emerald Weapon and get Master Materia, there is no Master Support

Yeah, it works in the PC version but the controls are confusing because everyone has different ones, and I think without a joystick it's a little bit harder too.

Here are the controls for the PC version;

Get out of the highwind and press [CAMERA] so that the world revolves around you when you walk.

Then get back in, go to the edge of the cliff, press [CANCEL] and then quickly press [OK] and [LEFT]. Do not press it for too long.

If you have the facing north problem with the airship, it's because your "walking view" is in static mode (i.e. North is always up). Just land and press L1 to change the view to the lower level view. Then get back in and bombs away!

For those of you who have trouble doing it the way it is in this video because your plane wants to face north, I tried it facing north and it worked. The altitude doesn't really matter either, I was as close as you could get to the ground on the edge, facing north, on the southernmost edge of the grassy cliff, and tapped X, hit Square, and moved toward the rocky ground. Finally got Tifa to get down there, lol..... giggity.

I was never able to do it the way it was done on this video.

Instead i put the airship as close to the edge as possible , and just when it was about to land i hold down square and push the air ship to the edge.

Works on the PC version. I just confirmed it. Took me a while to get this right, though. Before trying it, get out of the airship, set your perspective to the low angle (not overhead), then get back in and try it. If your camera is in overhead mode (which it is by default), the ship will try to turn itself to face north when it lands, and you won't get out on the side facing the cliff.

@quakertroy great tip. After trying about 20 times I read this, took me 5 more tries and I got it. This was on a PSX emulator on my phone (EVO). *Change to the low angle perspective!* I was facing the water, with the rocky area to my left (almost directly south on the actual map), hit X to land and then hold square and up+left until you land. You should be in position still holding square and up+left until you leave the highwind.

In response to anyone saying that this doesn't work: I just finished testing both the PS1 and PS3 (downloadable) versions and have confirmed that both of them do function.

Tips: Keep at it. Success is easier if you try landing at the corner of the green area and then directing your ship towards the dirt while pressing square. ALSO: As someone mentioned earlier: Make sure that your character view is set to perspective and NOT overhead (though you CAN still succeed with overhead)

Is anyone actually sure that they didn't fix this on the PS3 PSN version? I really really can't get it to work BY FAR... The ship turns the other way if it's faced north (so it does 180° turn) this happens EVERYT TIME. So it's not like I can get it to land on the cliff because it always turn away...

same thing was happening to me too, to fix it, land the airship and press R2 to change the camera view from overhead to side view (i guess??) and then get on the airship, and when you land it it won't turn north, at least that fixed ir for me

I already did it on 7/16/2009, I did a few tries, it worked. All you have to do is press the land button and then hold the move the highwind in any direction button and the direction to the path you wish; on that cliff shown on this video.

Just remember something random. I thought why on earth does such powerful magic exist? Then I thought that the materia is completely natural is why. Materia seems much more powerful when it's natural. Not just the cave magics, but others as well. Comet, Ultima, etc.

errr there just made that way you can buy them in stores but you can as well try copying the game from your ps3 again which might work . it happened to me when i hit disc 3. even if that doesnt work you can transfer the save back on to the ps3 and keep playing from there

There's an easier way to do this. Simply face THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. It seemed to work way better. The Highwind doesn't spin around if you do.
