Yes I can the slash on semin was a weak call and it okay to call it if you call the 4 or 5 times during the game the pens did the same. Also 2 no calls on goalie interference when the pens had a guy in the net and were still shooting no call not even a stopage of play. One of the 2 the guy was hold Varlamov down on his belly and the refs allowed play to continue. I doubt the caps Coach, GM, and half the players who could all be fined would call the refs out for no reason.
ok well, then if you want to go like that, lets talk about the 2 dives steckel had in game 2. letang CLEARLY got the puck first on his breakaway, and then malkins slew foot... steckel is fucking huge, theres no way has going down that easily. malkins trip was a good call though, letangs call, not so much.
the no call on the semin trip on cooke was the worst though. why was ov so open on the pp? well, our pker was on his face right off teh faceoff, that has something to do with it.
I wouldn't call either one a dive. The break away he was just taken down, but letang did get the puck. Bad call. Steckle is big but not the greatest skater when Malkin took out one foot he's gonna go down. With the semin no call, they never call trips right off the faceoff cuz everyone is scrambling in different directions. My problem is that the refs need to decide what they're gonna call and call it the same both ways. If they did that the pens wouldn't have a 10PP advantage through 3 games
i do want consistency from the refs, yes. but the flyers fans bitch about the reffing too, and they end up with more PPs than pitt. the pens should have won at least game 1 and 3 so far, and they really should have won game 2 as well. the caps havent outplayed the pens at all, the pens just didnt feel like showin up (besides crosby of course). but the caps got so badly outplayed in game 3 that they were bound to take stupid penalties. the pens had the puck for at least 45 mins that game.
if it wasnt for varlamov, this series is 3-0 pitt, and the pens would have scored at least 5 in each game. i know that playoff hockey is all about goaltending, but varlamov is playing over his skill level. brodeur isnt even consistently this good. and varlamov will never be brodeur
If it wasnt for Varlamov you'd be playing NY. You don't know he'll never be as good as brodour. Varlamov just turned 21, he's the caps first round pick and the russian national teams goalie. I think thats a good list of accomplishments for his age. For all we know he's the next cam ward.

What I ment to say was the russian national team has stated that he is their goalie of the future and he started on the russian junior team and led them to the finales. You can't count on him never getting any better then he is now.

the caps fans were taunting the rangers like any other fans would. it was alleged that the one fan spilled beer on torts, but hey, it's hockey, and ppl get drunk. instead of acting like an adult (and a professional coach), and alerting security to remove the fan, he decided to respond in a very childish way and throw things back at the fans (carelessly enough that he hit innocent bystanders in the process). incredible. AWESOME moment to see, but certainly not tortorella's finest moment.

the penguins whole team kinda sucks. and im a pens fan, but fleury, malkin, staal, are all overrated. staal impressed me round 1, and if he can keep it up, hell do great. but when ov has backstrom, semin, kozlov, and fedorov, and now hes got fucking simeon hasek in net, its gunna be hard to beat the caps. but ovechkin is the most one dimensional player ive seen in years. and if crosby is a pussy, how come hes known for outworking his opponent while taking a beating?

Crosby has talent that wows me, then he does something like complain to the refs about the hats raining onto the ice after OV's hat trick. I mean he's just lame. Even during the press conference after the game, he muttered something about that "not being an example of crying"

The entire Staal family impresses me. Malkin will play better. Still think we're in for a long series.
On the other hand, Semin, Backstrom, and Laich haven't really shone yet either, and Mike Green has caused me to wonder if he's not taking money to stink so bad. He's not only been ineffective, he's been downright BAD. So, I think games 3 and 4 will be VERY interesting.
Of course, if Varly keeps it up...

As far as OV being one dimensional, I think he'd be a Hall of Fame player if he was on defense. He is an awesome hitter, an awesome skater and one hell of a teammate.
And OV NEVER cries. Although he's learned to act a little on the side, apparently. He'll probably get an Oscar to go with the rest of the awards coming his way. OV is a beast.

the game tonight was the best game ive seen all year. the pens finally decided that playing like a team may just be a good idea. however, im totally sick of varlamov. hes played about 10 career games. brodeur wouldnt be makin the saves he is. im convinced its luck. i think hes GOOD, but not that good. hes sloppy, real sloppy, like thomas, but he cleans up his messes, and thats really all that matters.

are you for real? can you find me one bad call in the whole game? the officiating was great. the calls on the pens were dead on, and the calls on hte caps were dead on. when the pens controlled the puck for 45 mins of play, the caps are bound to take penelties. and im pretty sure there was not 1 holding or hooking call. i dont know what game you watched.

Yes I can the slash on semin was a weak call and it okay to call it if you call the 4 or 5 times during the game the pens did the same. Also 2 no calls on goalie interference when the pens had a guy in the net and were still shooting no call not even a stopage of play. One of the 2 the guy was hold Varlamov down on his belly and the refs allowed play to continue. I doubt the caps Coach, GM, and half the players who could all be fined would call the refs out for no reason.

ok well, then if you want to go like that, lets talk about the 2 dives steckel had in game 2. letang CLEARLY got the puck first on his breakaway, and then malkins slew foot... steckel is fucking huge, theres no way has going down that easily. malkins trip was a good call though, letangs call, not so much.
the no call on the semin trip on cooke was the worst though. why was ov so open on the pp? well, our pker was on his face right off teh faceoff, that has something to do with it.

I wouldn't call either one a dive. The break away he was just taken down, but letang did get the puck. Bad call. Steckle is big but not the greatest skater when Malkin took out one foot he's gonna go down. With the semin no call, they never call trips right off the faceoff cuz everyone is scrambling in different directions. My problem is that the refs need to decide what they're gonna call and call it the same both ways. If they did that the pens wouldn't have a 10PP advantage through 3 games

i do want consistency from the refs, yes. but the flyers fans bitch about the reffing too, and they end up with more PPs than pitt. the pens should have won at least game 1 and 3 so far, and they really should have won game 2 as well. the caps havent outplayed the pens at all, the pens just didnt feel like showin up (besides crosby of course). but the caps got so badly outplayed in game 3 that they were bound to take stupid penalties. the pens had the puck for at least 45 mins that game.

if it wasnt for varlamov, this series is 3-0 pitt, and the pens would have scored at least 5 in each game. i know that playoff hockey is all about goaltending, but varlamov is playing over his skill level. brodeur isnt even consistently this good. and varlamov will never be brodeur

If it wasnt for Varlamov you'd be playing NY. You don't know he'll never be as good as brodour. Varlamov just turned 21, he's the caps first round pick and the russian national teams goalie. I think thats a good list of accomplishments for his age. For all we know he's the next cam ward.

well, i see what youre saying but the pens would be playing the canes, and the rags would play the bruins. but i gotcha, and thats true, varlamov was the only reason the caps beat ny. however, he cant be the goalie for the russian national team with nabokov (nabby might actually be from khazakstan, but may play for russia, not sure) and khabibulin. plus theres gotta be somebody im missin.
as far as ward goes, remember, he hasnt made the playoffs since he won the cup till this year.

What I ment to say was the russian national team has stated that he is their goalie of the future and he started on the russian junior team and led them to the finales. Cam has missed the playoffs one season sinse his cup season and he was still solid in that season. Varlamov may or may not have a great career, but all signs point to him being a great goalie. You can't count on him never getting any better then he is now.
