They were all long-time Venom fans, but after this, not sure. I don't like being critical of musicians because they are people too. But yeah that does suck. :(

Venom started it and bands like Celtic Frost and Bathory took it and ran. But then it got to the point where extreme metal just became this big pissing contest with vocalists trying to be more guturral than the last guy and bands trying to be more brutal. They lost sight of great riffs and musicality. It is possible to have both the riffs and the brutality.
Is there a year on this? I think its real interesting the way the sound is proto-black metal but the aesthetic is like any heavy metal. Like the way corpse paint hadn't been invented, they're playing black metal and the drummer almost looks spinal tap... I dunno, just cool. Awesome fuckin song

good luck with your quest to find the dvd i think it was an extra from the remastered black metal cd release thats probably the easiest way to get it..i have this show on vhs tape it was called Venom Blood Lust and i have uploaded a few clips myself the show was filmed at venom's 2nd appearance at the hammersmith odeon apparently their first gig there was legendary and foced the Greater London Council to ban them from playing there again..until this show as ban was lifted

Beatiful metal song, and you'll never guess from whom Bathory got their name from. Not from Venom, but Erzebeth Bathory. She did bathe in the blood of young peasant women, and that is why she was incarcerated in he tower. Bathory's Woman of Dark Desires is probably best in capturing her desires.
VENOM are an excelent NWOBHM band one of the few survivors of its kin since the late 1970s. This song is inspired by the real Countess Erzebet Bathory or also known as Elizabeth Bathory who killed girl workers and farmer girls in her castle draining their blood out so she could bathe herself in it so that she wouldnt age at all. Bathory was found guilty one day by eyewitness accounts and was locked and walled up in her room in her castle until she died one day.
I agree, but that was the way that the ruling class of Hungarian nobility like the Bathorys or the Nadasdys treated the Slovak peasants in their day. They were no better than the German or Austrian nobility.

VENOM are an excelent NWOBHM band one of the few survivors of its kin since the late 1970s. This song is inspired by the real Countess Erzebet Bathory or also known as Elizabeth Bathory who killed girl workers and farmer girls in her castle draining their blood out so she could bathe herself in it so that she wouldnt age at all. Bathory was found guilty one day by eyewitness accounts and was locked and walled up in her room in her castle until she died one day.
