do you think you could do a video on signal chain order? i know it's all about preference but im kinda new to my tube amp and have been really playing a lot with where to put my overdrive....i seem to ALWAYS have my compressor on, my delay pedal seems to distort my signal when i dont want it to (maybe because it's in front of my amp instead of in the loop)..anyways....whatever you could share would be great. thanks.
@melonheed3 See my 'September Boardom #1' for my preferred signal path. I think there's some notes there, too. Your delay will certainly distort if you're feeding to the front end of an amp that's breaking up or overdriving. The only way to combat this is to insert it in your amp's effects loop if it has one. If not, well..it will be tough.
@tomiclav The Blues Pro is the first 'boutique' pedal I ever bought and I still have it. It kills. The Floyds are fantastic if you can get your head around the headstock (or lack of it). They play unbelievably well, stay in tune (thanks to the amazing speed loader system) and are built to an incredibly high Standard. We're talking about the US models, BTW. I have three and would buy another in a flash if they were still available.
@Burgerman666 i suppose the USA models don't sell on ebay for 300$? coz i've found a few new ones, discovery DSOT3 models and was amazed by the low price....tnx for the answer and nice demo....getting both DLS and blues pro ;)
omg, you have got a lot pedals. du you have the box of rock? which one do you prefer, the box of rock or the dirty little secret? do you build pedals yourselv?
I think it's safe to say your demo of the DLS is better than ones made by Catalinbread themselves. Heard every other demo and I just didn't get why everyone raved about this pedal..Well now I know..This seems to have wider tonal palette than the BB Preamp...5 stars as always...Cheers !!!
Second from the right in the stacking selection? That would be the mighty BSM HS-S Treble Booster. It's a dead-on copy of the Hornby Skewes Silicon Treble Booster that Blackmore used to get around with. Nice.
Nice vid. mate :) May I ask which channel of Laney VC50 you use in your demonstration? I am curious, because the clean channel of my VC50 kinda sucks with my modded DS-1, however the OD channel sounds much better. I guess it is time to retube :) Thanks!
Wow, that sounded fantastic. These weren't pure mimicry either - the tones were great but didn't immediately scream out that you were trying to imitate some other artist.
It's relatively cheap (about AUD$80 I think) and generic power supply called a 'DC18' that I picked up here in Australia. I haven't seen them available anywhere else in the world but I imagine they would be, probably under different brand names, as they are a Chinese OEM product. It's cool though; not noisy, plenty of current (1.5ma) and 4 x 18V's as well as 5 x 9V's. Great value.
The mic I use is a Violet Design 'The Amethyst' Electro Static studio mic. I hang it dead centre in front of the Laney's Celestion Greenback and then it goes straight to Logic where I pull up the volume a bit with a Waves L3 plug (no EQ, just slight limiting). To give it some 'space' I add an IK Multimedia CSR Vintage Plate reverb as well. The CSR is a killer verb that should be investigated by those of you with a taste for such things. :) One day I'll get a Royer.... :)
Brett, is the MI Blues boy deluxe just a more tweakable verion of the blues pro?
And does the Pro have the TS mid hump? cheers!

@Danthehorse Dan, I don't know as I've never tried the former. Best to consult Michael Ibrahim about that one.

Where did you get your shoes? Here in Brazil they dont make this type anymore. Converse and Vans do slip-ons, but not as stylish as the ones i had.

How about an overdrive going into a fuzz? Would that work?
jb1563700 1 year ago
I'm lookin for a pedal to boost my fuzz to higher gain and output craziness. This should do the trick right?

@29396 Yep. It's a great pedal. I don't think you'll find too many people that don't dig that one. It's very friendly. :)

how noisy was it stacking the DLS and Blues Pro together?
cvo223 2 years ago
Fine. Not as noisy as jacking something old school like a fuzz into it, that's for sure. The DLS is a quiet pedal. :)
Burgerman666 2 years ago
Wow! you do not have any pedals!!! which Box is the Violet/Purple Pedal?
