hey is there a way you can put reverb on selected parts of an ultrabeat track (lets say reverb on snare) without effecting the other drums on the ultrabeat track?
hey is there a way you can put reverb on selected parts of an ultrabeat track (lets say reverb on snare) without effecting the other drums on the ultrabeat track?
I am able import drum kits just like you show, but when I try to sample the beats I can only hear a couple of them. For ex. I can hear the rim shot and high tom, but I cannot hear the other sounds. Do I need to turn the volume on the other tracks?
haha agreed. But it doesn't matter what size your screen is, it matters what resolution you screen is. All the icons and text sizes in logic are based on pixels so even with a 30" cinema display everything is the same size. Things don't get any bigger you just get more screen real estate. If it really bothers you and you don't mind losing real estate, you can decrease the resolution of the screen on your laptop( System Preferances > Displays > 1152 x 768 ). Change it back to watch movies.
Yes I change the screen-resolution to 1152 or even 1024, it's the only way. Instead of an all-in-one-window design I suggest that apple in the next edition use a couple of screen-sets, different "skins" if you like. One performance-skin with all the sliders, filters and stuff with big fat knobs. Then another set perfect for editing with pencil-tool and so on. "One program - many faces" is better.
Hey guys, does any one here know how to get turntables through logic so as i can record...the record.... ? Im using a motu 828 MK3 firewire interface, so i assume i'd run it through a line input.... can any one provide more information on this?.... i should also point out the turntable mixer is a Vestax PMC05 PRO, so reasonably old school....
You need a RCA to 1/4" connector. Run "line out" from the PMC05 to "balanced/unbalanced" on the 828. Don't try and run line out to the s/pdif connectors on the left of the 828. Thats a totally different type of signal.
Yup, Im getting signal in the 828... but im fucked if i know how to get signal in logic.... on a standard stereo audio track, what do i need to do.... input wise... wheres the audio coming from.... line in puts obviously, but where are they in logic.... what do i select...
This is a goog guy. I learn stuff. Along with Logicninja an Mr Mig, all I know, I know from them.
How about more deeper on midi-editing, there is som much I don't know. I know the arpeggiator though thnx to Logicninja. Here I learn other stuff. Great
Q should you really have to be a guru to use a program. I like to "play" the program, not program it.
Great video. But how can i even open the ultrabeat window? i have logic 8 and i don't even know how to open ultrabeat! can u plz explain! thanks in advance
Create an instrument track (cmnd + option+ n), click and hold on the input of the track in the mix window ( the second box from the bottom of the track just above the volume fader) a pop up menu will appear while you are holding the mouse down, Ultrabeat is near the bottom of the popup list, release while its highlighted. There shoudl be a blue box that says Ultrabeat on the track now, double click on it to open the window.
Sorry about that. I didn't even consider resolution. I will be sure the next video looks better. Might not be able to get higher resolution (youtube MB limit), but I will definitely zoom in more so you can see what I'm doing. Thanks for the feedback.
man! this doesnt help me, im using logic 7!!! no one seems to know how to help me load my own samples in logic 7's ultrabeat.......... im lost.................please help.
You can import samples in Logic Pro 7's Ultrabeat exactly the same way as shown in the video. However, if you are using Logic 7 "Express," then I'm pretty sure there is no way to import samples. I'm not certain ( I never really used Express ), but that would be my guess. If there is no import button at the top, you can't import samples, sorry :-(

Why is everything so small in Logic 8? It's ridiculous.

Why is everything so damn small in apple-program??? On a MacBook it's rediculous. How many MacBooks are there out there? Millions...

Where do you learn your English?

make sure you select "software instrument" when you open a new track. You opened an audio track so software instruments aren't available.

Good to know that you have been busy - that is always better than being a bum (like me!).
Thanks a lot for the new tutorial. Can't wait to see the follow up videos.
Take care.
